confirmation?
Hey guys,
I wanted to double check that our waiver rules are understood.
attached i have my (planned) roster, and depth chart. I went and checked the current GP and added that column. In regards to waiver regulations all of my players are under 28, so that is a non-issue (for me).
I believe my entire depth chart is waiver-exempt (less then 150GP/28yrs old). Boedker & R.Jones have played the most @ 92 & 95 games.
I also believe I have a couple of my NHL players who are waiver exempt:
Evander Kane
Jamie Benn
John Tavares
Brandon Sutter
Taylor Hall ->> whoever I pick with #1
David Jones
Jack Hillen
& Curtis McElhinney
sadly I have a few players who JUST broke the exempt qualifications and would need to clear (up or down):
Kyle Quincey by 15 games
Kyle Okposo by 5 games.
Nik Kulemin by 2 games !!!! @ 151.
does anyone see any mistakes in my findings? or have any questions about waiver regs?

Re: confirmation?
Looks good to me. I like this idea too. Below is my NHL players that are waiver exempt:
Jason Demers
Johnny Boychuk
Matt Carkner
Matt Gilroy
Matt Hunwick
Tuukka Rask
Oskars Bartulis
Ryan Stone
The few players i have in the minors that are not waiver exempt:
Trent Whitfield
Riley Cote
This will all probably change as the off-season goes on, as my roster is not set yet.
PS Anyone wanna trade some Matts for maybe a Joe or Bob?

Re: confirmation?
Matt Carkner's 30, so he'll have to clear waivers regardless of his GP.mr. bruin wroteCOLONLooks good to me. I like this idea too. Below is my NHL players that are waiver exempt:

Re: confirmation?
speaking of confirmations..
the waivers eligibility status need to be determined/checked only once, at the start of the season, and stays the same until the following year right?
i mean, players that are waivers exempt in october are waivers exempt all season long.. correct?

Re: confirmation?
yes Mik, Kareem is correct that it is a detail that you only need to check once, October 1st to be precise, this decision for a single set date were status was decided was made for a variety of reasons:
- simplicity
- we don't pro-rate salaries, would be inconsistent to pro-rate a similarly difficult to measure variable
- worked okay last year
- we don't control fringe players/rookies/sophomores getting called up or getting more games then expected... a player in your minors losing waiver exemption mid-year is out of your control, seriously inconvenient.

'playability' and fun come first for me and this rule makes only sense . Thx for adding the precise date btw, i guess for the number of games to matter players must be under 28 by that date, hence must be born after october 1st 1982, right? Or is it after september 30th?
Re: confirmation?
september 30th @ midnight and he's no longer waiver exempt.

That's right Scott, I did the list off the top of my head, I forgot he was a late bloomer. Thanks for the heads up!Raptactics wroteCOLON Matt Carkner's 30, so he'll have to clear waivers regardless of his GP.
