Whose Advice Do You Trust The Most/Least
Re: Whose Advice Do You Trust The Most/Least
I'd wager that if I had already commented on the deal I'd a) have told you as much
Re: Whose Advice Do You Trust The Most/Least
Sorry on iPhone and miss-clicked.
If I had commented to them on the deal I'd have told u as much. And either paraphrased or copy-pasted the same opinion. I don't believe my opinion is swaying many trade talks - this isn't a group of 30 semi-hockey fans, but 30+mostly independent HUGE hockey fans.

Nah you wouldn't. I have plenty of instances where this has happened lol. But I take no offence to it man. This league is politics as much as it is fantasy hockey sometimes.Nick wroteCOLONI'd wager that if I had already commented on the deal I'd a) have told you as much

Some gm's think there is a) a lot more
behind the scene here in the BBKL then there really is and b) that politics is dirtier then it really is. Operate the same way whether it be work, school, friends or politics - family and love might be a different matter.

Re: Whose Advice Do You Trust The Most/Least
I tend not to ask for advice, not because I think I have it all figured out or anything, but because in 99% of deals I'm very decisive when proposed something and don't want to waste the other GM's time second guessing myself. I think I've asked for advice a few times, but can't remember. Probably asked all three of Scott/Nick/Kareem.
Won't ask for advice? People I have blocked on the MSN.

Nick just last week you told me I should make the for Toews on MSN, then commented on the thread that you liked the deal for Bry lol. Now I loved the deal I made anyway. But I just found it funny that you did that. Regardless, enough on this topic.Nick wroteCOLONSome gm's think there is a) a lot more

I think most of us that ask for advice is more re-assurance.
For me personally, I usually just want to make sure I'm not over-rating my players and rejecting a good deal, or getting tunnel vision on a player I'm looking to acquire and paying a terrible amount.

That was the exact case I was thinking of shiv - I a)told u I had already head about it from bry b) no i couldn't match the offer c) like it for both, better for him because I see more potential change (+) in value. d) did say in the thread that you got best player, and there are theories on who wins a trade related to that :p
Oh, and i had copy pasted my comments to shook into our convo (also told Bryan once I had done that).

99% of the league does that, not just Nick...SuperMario wroteCOLONI don't come to you for advice because it's biased at times. Especially if I'm dealing with Shooker, Cliff, Mash because then I find you always tend to give me the opposite of what you know to be right advice. But I know you're just being a good friend to them so it's cool .Nick wroteCOLONShiv when have I given you advice?
As per my previous comments, I trust shook and cliff, unless it's with them, and I can usually read between the lines as per what Kareem really means. When we talk. He won't even hold my hand anymore.

Re: Whose Advice Do You Trust The Most/Least
I do what shep does, and even if the other guy says "don't make that deal" I usually still do.
One that comes to mind is one I made with shiv last week, the spezza + hartnell for plekanec + anisimov. I asked scott what he thought, he didn't like it but I still made it! Lol

It's like I said, I get set on something then want it. Like you said, I also make deals that people say not to because there is something I really like about it.sgupca wroteCOLONI do what shep does, and even if the other guy says "don't make that deal" I usually still do.
