Sometimes, when I want to get straight to the point, I start from the chin to the mid-point of the abdomen - then I crack the sternum and tear out the heart so I can investigate what went wrong. Sometimes it's a little messy, but I always get to where I need to go.facey wroteCOLONIs it some offense for me to comment on a trade you make?

These are all assets that can be used in a trade to acquire pieces for a playoff push, should HS decide to go in that direction.

I see it as: Perry + Steen + Neal for OEL + RNH + Kreider + McIlrath + Leblanc + Ritchie
Can someone explain how that's a major loss for me?

Actually, it would be OEL, RNH, Kreider, JT Miller, McIlrath, Leblanc, Ritchie. So yea. Not a bad return for someone who wanted to get younger and add to the blue-line.shooker wroteCOLONIsn't it actually this?hockeysense wroteCOLONI see it as: Perry + Steen + Neal for OEL + RNH + Kreider + McIlrath + Leblanc + Ritchie

I think you've done a decent job so far. Some deals you've won. Some deals you've lost.hockeysense wroteCOLONI see it as: Perry + Steen + Neal for OEL + RNH + Kreider + McIlrath + Leblanc + Ritchie

One thing I will say though is this: I would not move Corey Perry alone for everything on your side.
Re: LAK/VAN
Upon some reflection and reading, it's pretty clear that value on certain players fluctuates from team to team. I was quick to see that there will anyways be someone who will say I outright lost a trade, or won it. So I can't win by arguing about it - but I don't might showing there are always different ways to skin a cat. If RNH, JT Miller, Kreider, and McIlrath are what I ended up with in my dual trade with Scott and Kareem for just Perry, I'm content with it.SuperMario wroteCOLONI think you've done a decent job so far. I completely agree man. But I think the reason why some people are knockin on ya is just to make sure you take it a little slower than you have. It takes time to understand value in this league. Take that advice as you will though. It is your team.hockeysense wroteCOLONUpon some reflection and reading, it's pretty clear that value on certain players fluctuates from team to team. Re: LAK/VAN
I actually appreciate Shiv saying it. Not very many guys can make as many lateral circles as him (Obv have been ups and downs, but he's maintained a top 5).
Lots of the top teams are very careful with their deals. Not sure if Kyle, Neel & I combine to have 5 deals between us.
If Chris had stopped at one or two it would have been an impressive start.

hes won some hes lost some. which can be said about most gms in this league, good and bad.
Re: LAK/VAN
The circle of deals doesn't show a plan, IMO. Hence why I called it out... Since when are we such a group of softies that cannot handle a joke or critical comment?
Really don't think Chris made some very 'hockey-forum' value/concept based trades?

Re: LAK/VAN
Who says I can't handle a joke? Who says I can't handle criticism? There's a difference between using logic and reasoning to make a point, and saying broad, unsubstantiated things like "Circle of deals," "I don't make trades," "I'll be shocked if Luke gets PP time this year," etc. Jesus, those are pretty astute comments. What criticism! What jokes!
If you're going to criticise me, create a sentence. Use a period. Use contractions. Be clear. Be concise. Don't parrot generalized shit like you did on the boredz unless you're going to say something that's unique, that's your opinion, and somewhat structured in the sense that I don't feel like I'm talking down to a whiny 12 year old.
Thanks.

Re: LAK/VAN
Dont think I spoke in general terms, didn't know you forgot your own trades that quickly. Does the couture trade cycle
need to be written out for my comments about it to make sense?
Anyways, what's done is done, not going to waste any more time on this. Never had any beef with you Chris, I think the 2 senior members who pushed it this far are at fault. Not that it is something new for the BBKL, or that it is something fatal.

Re: LAK/VAN
If anyone's at fault for any missteps, it's me for not having taken the time to approach your for your wisdom. On a serious note, it's also my fault for allowing Frank to push push push and push me into making a deal I didn't really give a shit about until later. But you know, instead of stepping away from that deal, I kept to my word with Frank - even if you and 28 other GMs have no respect for him. I treat everyone the way I expect to be treated. If I agreed to do something, I do it. I'm not going to step back from my word. If Frank wants to pump his chest and act like a cunt afterwards, I won't be dealing with him in the future.
On the other hand, as I have said countless times by now, I thought the team bergey built was ageing, falling behind the moves the top Eastern and Western teams made, and needed more than just a simple retooling. Did I work fast? Yes. But outside of maybe two deals, there's much to like of the moves I made, and those who think I did a poor job overall seem to be in the minority. If you want to criticise me, I won't be reading it unless you have something interesting to say other than the three points I listed above. At least those who have criticised my moves have done so with equal clarity and respect. The conniving, catty, and quite frankly puerile behaviour that goes behind the scenes does a nice job of avoiding the topic of what happened a year or two years ago with the horrific GMing that created some serious imbalances in the league, and the silence between the GMs who benefited the most from it.
But I'm not going to argue about this any longer. I made a misstep with Frank (I won't be dealing with him ever again), and I should be fine from here on out now that you've made it patently clear that I suck, and have have nowhere to go, but up.
Cheers.
