I think cliff wins too. This wasn't the best offer value wise I got during my shop period but it made sense for me. If I didn't have cap issues this deal would have never gone down.

Drew Doughty is nowhere near as valuable player at 7 million dollars annually. This is a win for Shooker, provided Brandon Gormley develops as expected.

guys, Drew Doughty is far more valuable in real life than BBKL.Burns will give Bry exactly what DD did for half the cost. And Gormley is a terrific bonus.

To be accurate DD never gave Bryan anything, never dressed a single game as a member of his Avalanche, Burns never a game as a Duck. Although this past season Burns and DD were very comparable, it was considered a good season for one, and a let down by the other. On form DD will be a superior player, and the Kings should be a rather awesome team this year, adding Richards and Gagne, only really losing Smyth. Although I believe the sharks got better as well, with the additions of Burns, Havlat & Handzus (while losing Heaters, White and Seto).

now bothshould be more equal after doughty suffered from concussion last/the season before? although i agree give me doughty any day even the cap is higher (i guess would be 6.5mil..)
