Those of us who have thought and talked about it have never seen a solution that doesn't make 10x more problems, and all that to add one intriguing concept. And how quickly it could spiral out of control. But we've also said to everyone to post your proposal(s) if you think it's so good - I cannot speak for others, but - I'd read it.

If you cannot think of any arguments against it, then you haven't thought about it.

Oh no, I'm not saying I can't think of arguments against it.

I was responsible for tracking in the previous keeper I was in, and well, let's just say it was a disorganized shit show before I took over doing it. With the amount of movement in this league, a google docs spreadsheet will not be enough. Nor will CBS. So unless we can find a workable solution that's already available, or people good at the intertubes are up to designing a custom software, it probably wouldn't work.

With that said , there are other hurdles. Impartiality being a major concern. Who decides if 600 k is good enough for some scrub of if he's holding tight for that 650 k ?

As far as the positive ;

Customization, maybe getting a steal here or there. Laughing at other who over pay.

This isn't an official proposal. Just shootin' the shit because there's nothing better to do.

I'm not gonna bother but to fulfill your interest Lee I basically thought any upcoming UFAs in the NHL that you owned save for 1 you could protect, after July 1st would go in to the waiver draft. It would've given that draft some added value and it would've added a free agent aspect without getting in to something too confusing such as bidding for players, etc.. we'd still use the RL contracts after these players signed and it would help turn around bottom half teams as they'd own the picks to acquire the top UFAs in the draft. But it wasn't accepted too well and shot down quite quickly. I thought it was really simple and with a little work on how to acquire these players because there are no rentals permitted, I think it was a good idea.

well Lee, if you have interest and time to kill, this is where the last discussion about it started:
http://bbkl.ca/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=549& ... t=20#p5297

3 pages and more about it. If ever, that would have been the proper time to try something like that.
