Did they address what the team will be called? I'd assume that the Coyotes still own the right to the Jets name.

Jets name is still on the table, however te discussion on team name has not happened yet. Took to final hours in order to get the papers worked out.

Tickets are for sale!!!! $39 gets you in the building

In Vancouver (let alone Toronto) $39 doesn't even get you in the ticket line.

no they're still thinking on it. but imo it's gotta be the jets. it has to be. the city wants that name. theyd be silly to try and pick a new name and have to put in all the money theyd need to rebrand it. jets brand has too much value in it.

I haven't heard the announcement, but there was strong speculation they were going to be called "Manitoba ________" as opposed to "Winnipeg _______"

Did that come up?

nope didn't come up. but believe me when i say this, Jets is the front-runner for the name. it may end up being a different name but yeah.

They said the average ticket prices would be around $82..putting them 3rd among Canadian teams (behind Toronto and Montreal). I think 4th was in the $60 range.

Winnipeg Jets or bust. I dont see how they can go with a different name. the people of manitoba want them to be called the jets, just look at any recent poll.

When Minnesota got their franchise back they didn't become the North Stars again (thankfully.. such a stupid name). Obviously because the Wild was a brand new franchise and the North Stars relocated to Dallas. I think if instead of calling the team Winnipeg and using Manitoba it would be approriate because the whole province could relate to the team. Attracting fans from the entire province is a very smart idea and by doing that, starting with the name of the team is brilliant.

We should brainstorm some team names.. maybe there's a contest for the team name and we can submit something!

Manitoba Machines? Manitoba Muscle? Manitoba Marvels? I dunno.. lol

minny couldnt use north stars because of the dallas stars, imo totally different scenario. I've heard one of the front runners is the manitoba monarchs from my friends in winnipeg.....lets just stay with the jets please and avoid turning an awesome name into another "wild" disaster.

Where did you see that average ticket price? I watched the press conference, they never mentioned Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver even once as the markets are not comparable.

The cheapest seats in the MTS centre are more expensive then saddle-dome, rexhall or scotia bank - but that's failing to look at the seats, which are MUCH closer with fair superior viewing of the game. Also their most expensive seats are cheaper then anywhere else in Canada.

The average price to attend a JETS game will be under $55...

Not sure what you are referring to about the Wild disaster, but they have probably the best logo in the league.
