Bad Driving Test Experience...
So today I took my first official G2 Drivers Test at the Oakville Center, and got paired with an instructor who I kid you not, looked exactly like Shiv (from the picture I saw of him anyways). Needless to say, the experience was horrible, and I subsequently failed. The instructor was incredibly rude, vulgar, and very unpleasant. Which unfortunately appears to be a common similarity among all driving instructors.
For those curious, I ultimately failed trying to do a three point turn using a crooked crack, among many cracks I might add (which I drove over) on a narrow road as reference for a curb, rather than an actual curb which would have been far easier. The resulting error lead to my instructor yelling rude vulgarities my way, and even rolling his eyes, an ironic gesture given that he is a full time driving teacher, but I digress.
If anyone else has a similar tale to tell regarding driving instructors, or road test I would love to hear it...

Re: Bad Driving Test Experience...
When I wrote my 365 (yes I'm that old) I went and did my road test on the same day. It was pouring rain outside when I walked in, my instructor didn't want to go out so he told me to drive to Tim Hortons and if I came back without missing something from the order I passed. I still remember the order. 2 large double doubles, 1 large regular, 1 ex large black, 3 walnut crunch donuts, 1 old fashion plain & 20 assorted timbits.
The whole G1/G2 crap came in the following year.. needless to say, they were a lot more laid back when I was learning to drive haha.

Also, out of interest, did you write the order down, or do it all from memory, if you did the latter I'm impressed, I doubt I could remember it off the top of my head.

27 and still don't even have my beginners. No real need for it. Although that will change when the crotchfruit come about.
Re: Bad Driving Test Experience...
I'm one of the rare ones, I got my G2 and G both on my first try and had very very nice instructors both times. lol.

Not sure if serious...If serious, I am referring to the Tim Hortons order, did you memorize it, or write it down? If not, LOL, I think...The Devil wroteCOLONTBH, I wrote my 365 over 14 years ago.. My sister is the same, but everyone else I have talked to (small sample size, but strong consensus) either failed their first try, and/or had to deal with a rude driving instructor.Mash wroteCOLONI'm one of the rare ones, I got my G2 and G both on my first try and had very very nice instructors both times. lol.

LMAO.. god. I'm so stunned sometimes! I thought you were referring to the actually 365 test. Anyway, I didn't write it down.. it was a prerequisite given to me my the instructor.. and I remember everything.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONNot sure if serious...If serious, I am referring to the Tim Hortons order, did you memorize it, or write it down? Re: Bad Driving Test Experience...
Fuck that. There's no way I'd drive in Calgary with a bike down to the corner store, let alone from one end of the city to another. Go go public transit.
Re: Bad Driving Test Experience...
TBH, unless I absolutely must I take the bus too. I love mother earth and I kind of hate driving. Unless I'm going out of town or somewhere in a hurry.. I will walk, or take the bus. That might sound "gay" but I always try and do my part.Kezia wroteCOLONFuck that. LOL The impact of automobiles is the most over-stated influence on green-house gas levels. Seriously laughable how little actual reading people do on global warming, but hey -> it's the hot thing now. Stop drinking milk and eating beef, it'll have a bigger impact. Buy only local manufactured items, stop flying, etc.
Anyways, driving is one of the best feelings in the world IMHO, cars are probably the only thing (aside from females, especially of the good looking variety) that I consistently enjoy more then hockey.
Edit: Regarding driving tests, it was more of a technicality. I'd been driving sans-license for some time, got my "L", "N" and full license w/o any hitches, however my "N" test was risk, tester was a jackass and had just 'tricked' my friend.

Re: Bad Driving Test Experience...
That's your opinion.. but really, it doesn't matter how "little" the effects are from cars.. there are still effects on mother earth. I chose to drive only when necessary.. and it isn't the only thing I do that's geared towards a greener existence. I try to be aware of how I'm living and what I'm doing no matter what it is if it not only affects me but future generations. I can only do my part.facey wroteCOLONLOL The impact of automobiles is the most over-stated influence on green-house gas levels. Re: Bad Driving Test Experience...
i had a great female instructor, very friendly, and whatnot, i did well through most of the test, except for exceeding the speed limit in a school zone went about 15 k over, she said i should have failed based on that but she passed me anyways lol, so i was another lucky one

Re: Bad Driving Test Experience...
I was about 15 MPH under because I was passing a school bus on a small two lane residential road, with a parked car on the right, and I was deducted points...I know it sounds like I am exaggerating, but my instructor really was a world class jackass.MadarameIkakku83 wroteCOLONi had a great female instructor, very friendly, and whatnot, i did well through most of the test, except for exceeding the speed limit in a school zone went about 15 k over, she said i should have failed based on that but she passed me anyways lol, so i was another lucky one
