Orlov and Petersson are both quality prospects, in addition to Carolinas 2nd in 2012 which will likely be in the top half, Mitchell by contrast is a 33 year old defensive defenceman with a severe injury history. Up until a few weeks ago it wasn't even certain whether or not he would return to the NHL. On a value for value standpoint, Nate overpaid by a substantial margin.

Isolated, sure it looks terrible, but we both now that deal was needed to acquire Chris Kreider (later Kulikov) and Paul Stastny (later Stamkos). So no, it wasn't a bad trade. In fact it was one of the best deal's Ive ever made.

I'd do it again...Alexander Semin is a one dimensional inconsistent butt plug who makes way more then he should, and is a KHL threat. Lecavalier is severely overpaid as well, but is a valuable commodity that hits more cats and has a far greater track record of sucess. Not to mention that I dealt him for Devin Setoguchi and Logan Couture.
