Wings Comeback
You can thank the greatest player in the world (Pavel Datsyuk) for that.

Re: Wings Comeback
The Wings' leaders took that game over in the third when they needed them the most. Howard kept them in that game...he deserves a lot of credit as well. We'll see Tuesday how rattled the Sharks are from that rally. It's either the start of an historic comeback or the last few punches from an old fighter. With a win on Tuesday, they'll be playing with house money come Thursday. Vancouver survived Chicago's rally...let's see what kind of guts and heart are in the Sharks. Roenick destroyed Marleau on Versus last night. That was definitely Niemi's weakest period of the entire series.
Re: Wings Comeback
I thought for sure they were done after trailing 3 to 1 in the 3rd period, wings have the momentum now going back to the Joe, Wings in 7

Re: Wings Comeback
The Sharks outplayed the Wings badly last night, just like they have in every game of the series thus far. Last night merely extended the inevitable, SJS in 6.

Howard stole the game that Niemi gave away... no other analysis is needed. SJS gets it next game IMO.

not so much imo.. previous games have been overall quite even.. for example, Sharks were the better team in 2nd and 3rd of game 4, but were outplayed badly by a great 1st by the Red Wings., just like they have in every game of the series thus far
They won game 3 but could have gone differently.. they were great in the first 45' minutes of game 2, but still the Red Wings came back strong in the last 15' and came close..
i think this was the first game one team looked clearly better than the other. Ironically they lost.
if their play is not affected by this loss and they show up again like in game 2 and 5, that's more likely than not. But there is an if at this point.Last night merely extended the inevitable, SJS in 6.
Re: Wings Comeback
wings are making it a series, a valiant effort from one of the best, if not the best modern day dynasty, but they are done like dinner, stick a fork in em

Re: Wings Comeback
Datsyuk was obviously able to endure his injury...I don't want to see a broke ass Franzen play tonight. I'd rather see a guy like Modano play where he's healthy and can still pick 'em up and put 'em down. The times they've been successful in this series has been when they've skated and they've challenged the Sharks' defense. I think adding his speed would be an asset.
Franzen is a clutch playoff performer but he skate on one leg. Modano would also bring some urgency since he's most likely going to retire after this season...I think he'd prefer to go down swinging rather than sitting in the press box. Babs says he'll play Franzen if he's good enough to go but in a must win, you can't play shorthanded all night. They were able to get away with having 11 forwards for one period but you need a full lineup for the entire game if you intended on banging heads with the Sharks big defensemen.
In the last 3 games, Howard has outplayed Niemi...I can feel comfortable that the goaltending won't cost them the series in the end. A win tonight is a very real possibility...the Joe is back to back to being a true home ice advantage and they've played their best hockey of the playoffs at home. I'd love to see a game Thursday but I expect the Sharks to crank up the intensity because they don't want to put themselves into a one game winner-take-all scenario against a veteran group like the Wings. All 5 games have been decided by a single goal...I think we'll see that again.

I would've bitten off my finger nails if I hadn't already trimmed them this morning. I can't wait for Thursday!

Re: Wings Comeback
I hope the Red Wings win, I still think the Sharks will finish it tomorrow, but Detroit offers the biggest challenge to the Bruins winning the cup, ergo I would most like to see them win.
Re: Wings Comeback
I feel the Nucks would beat the Sharks or Wings if they get their shit together and the twins start scoring. Kesler's too beast right now and Van City's D is right up there with the best squads in the playoffs. I'm cheering for the Sharks to win it but I feel the Nucks would be too tough for them.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONI hope the Red Wings win, I still think the Sharks will finish it tomorrow, but Detroit offers the biggest challenge to the Bruins winning the cup, ergo I would most like to see them win.
Re: Wings Comeback
33 of Kesler's 41 goals are vs non-playoff teams.
Malhorta vs 1st line
Sedins vs shutdown/2nd line
Kesler vs 3rd-line/2nd offernsive line
He wins his matchups, was by far the best player in the Nashville series... but how good he is, IMO, is now grossly exaggerated.
Sharks vs Nucks would be a good series, but IMO the Nucks would destroy the Wings.
