LOL, Andrei Markov didn't put up those numbers, and he is 100X the player Subban could ever hope to become. He is a good player, but his hype is reaching stupid levels. Kid is quickly becoming one of the most overrated hockey players in the NHL.

Why's that funny? He almost did that this year as a rookie. And I truly believe he will be a consistent 55-60 point defenseman.

No Steve, he really isn't...He had 40 points, and a ton of periphery stats on a team that was without their #1 offensive defenceman (Andrei Markov), and their #1 shut down defenceman (Josh Gorges). You are paying for what you think PK will become, problem is that what he already is, is not likely to continue. The points will likely go up, but he will not continue to be a top penalty killing defenceman, frankly he is just not very good defensively.

John Tavares is currently the better player, and has a significantly higher ceiling than PK Subban. Your only hope to save face in this deal is Grabovski, as a Leaf fan I really hope there is another gear.

The sickening part is that you added MDZ, who projects as a similar offensive threat (if not even greater), and comparable albeit lesser peripheries. The difference between JT and Grabo does not warrant adding MDZ, IMO.

I hope Markov isn't back because he is a superior defenceman. But even assuming Montreal doesn't sign their #1 defenceman, they will retain the services of Josh Gorges who, along with Gill take up a majority of the PK duties for the Montreal Canadiens. The pp time is pretty much a lock for Subban, he is an offensive rearguard, he will get his looks.
