The fact that Americans are cheering about Osama's death is comical. You would think the announcement of Osama's death would create an opportunity for people to reflect and grieve about the shit load amount of blood and money that their country has sacrificed over the last 10 years. Cheering over 1 man's death?

in fact, from the outside lookin in, the US average citizen looks just sad (even if his feelings are not).

What about the hundreds of thousands of innocent Middle Eastern civilians, including women and children that died at the hands of the US government both in retaliation for the 9/11 attacks, and for OIL? Funny how their is no remorse or sadness over those casualties.

Absolutely. Sickening how little America cares about brown people. Same thing in Vietnam. I strongly suggest the documentary The Most Dangerous Man in America, about the man who leaked the Pentagon Papers. Illustrates just how little the men at the top cared about the civilians (not to mention the farcical justification for the war). No different from the American wars in the ME now.

Correction, Jihad is a holy war that can only be waged when a person, or group of people threaten one's practicing of Islam. Not self sacrifice to kill heathens, or a view that all Americans deserve to die, that is media driven.

That's well put, FTR I'm not upset Osama is dead, though I believe he was dead long before Sunday night, this is a man who was on dialysis for years, and was said to be a different man in the videos posted on American TV networks by his own son. Anyways...My only gripe is the barbaric brush the Islamic nation appears to be painted with by the Western Media.

Before Sunday night I would have agreed with you. I thought he was dead as well. That being said, I'm near convinced this was real.

As far as the brush with which the Islamic world is painted, this is where you lose me. The religion itself is indeed barbaric. As is Christianity. As is Judaism. Let me be clear, I have no problem with individuals believing in magic, but when that becomes state-sponsored and/or violent I cannot abide.

All three Abrahamic religions justify violence and tribalism. And, well, this is understandable. If you get your public policy from Bronze Age mythology, no doubt it will be outdated and just plain silly.

Now, which religion does this sound like? "God has endowed my people with the title deeds of the Holy Land. We have the divine right to this land". The answer? all three.
