ROUND 2
Eastern Conference
(7) Buffalo @ (1) Washington [7 Games]
(4) Pittsburgh @ (3) Boston [6 Games]
Western Conference (4) Anaheim @ (1) Vancouver [7 Games] (3) Detroit @ (2) San Jose [6 Games]
I said at the begining of the year it would be Van against WSH in the finals so I have to stick with those choices but here is how I see it break down.
First Round Matchups (East):
(1) WSH vs. (8) NYR = Washington in 6
(2) PHI vs. (7) BUF = Philly in 4
(3) BOS vs. (6) MTL = Boston in 7
(4) PIT vs. (5) TB = TB in 6
First Round Matchups (West):
(1) VAN vs. (8) CHI = Vancouver in 5
(2) SJ vs. (7) LA = San Jose in 6
(3) DET vs. (6) PHX = PHX in 6
(4) ANA vs. (5) NSH = NSH in 6
Meaning my round 2 looks like:
WSH vs TB (6), PHI vs BOS (6) VAN vs PHX (5), SJS vs NSH (7)
Leading to:
WSH vs BOS (6) VAN vs NSH (5)
Resulting in:
WSH vs VAN (6)
Conn Smyth goes to Hank Sedin who lead the playoffs in scoring.
NSH is my darkhorse. Built for playoffs and arguably the best D pairing in hockey Weber/Suter. Don't forget the most under rated goalie in hockey Pekka Rene
Eastern Conference

making me wish I went with Ana over them... and I would if Hiller was back.
I'm cheering for them. A couple local boys on that team. Logan the London boy and Big Joe from St. Thomas (although born in London).
They don't have what it takes on D. Everything else is solid though.
You say that about SJS but think TBL will win? Logic doesn't follow...LOL
I know its contradictory. But I'm too huge a St. Louis/Lecavalier/Roloson fan. And Stamkos can outdo any forward in an H2H matchup.
And I'll bet on a core of forwards that has Vinny, MSL, Stamkos, Gagne with Rolo in net than a core with Thornton, Heatley, Marleau, Pavelski, Couture. Not that the latter has any less skill. I just think the former knows how to win more.

TBH, I'll be surprised if Tbay beats the Penguins

on paper its hard to argue against a VAN vs DET/PHI vs WSH conference finals. Me picking TBL is more of a homer pick than a logical one.
