Movement towards safety

Kinda hypocritical for a guy (Steve Yzerman) who only wore a visor at the end of his career to pressure his players into that. This is a decision that should remain in the individual players domain; offer it to them, make it readily avialble and be willing to customize it for them, but I dislike taking decisions away from adults, as it also tends to remove owner-ship of the consequences/fault/etc.

but w/e... I hope every Leaf has one on :P

Maybe I just thought myself outta this... players won't truly believe their GMs care for their safety unless it's without a doubt, blatantly shoved in their face... as in other industries the first step often has to come top down, the PA is slow acting in this regard but hopefully the GMs can improve safety around the league.

It sure seems to me like a lot of injuries could be fixed by gloves that can protect fingers from slap shots and skates that don't flex to the point of broken bones when his by a slap shot -> progress should be made everywhere, not just concern for their 'money-makers'.

It says he'll ask them. If somebody is truly against it he won't force them.

Can't see how it's hypocritical though. He obviously put one on near the end of his career for safety precautions, so I see no problem with this.
