Kareem at this point most of us are clearly more then online acquaintances... and speaking to each other in such a rude manner should have stopped by now. This isn't hf-boards or some other online forum, this is a group of 30 higher-interest hockey 'buddies' running a ridiculously deep keeper league... and we've all said where in this for the long haul, let's keep that in mind.

Back onto the real topic of conversation, If Kyle wants to move to the West, not only do I support it, I recommend it. A powerful team needs to be swapped to even out the conferences, if I am the one being a baby, than why is that none of the Weak teams in the West want this to happen? The answer is very simple...

With all due respect to Kareem...whether you played Scott in Eastern semis or the league finals, you lost and lost bad. It's not a product of your conference. The league title goes through Scott whether you're in his conference or not.

That being said...I think we've got a fairly balanced league that doesn't need any massive tweeks. Yes, the Rangers who finished 9th in the East would've been 6th in the West but there's always a year where some team could say, "if I was only in the other conference, I'd be in the playoffs". Bill would've been 10th in the West if was still St. Louis with how many points he had...finished 10th in the East with Ottawa.

I can understand Kareem's beef but why should he move? Who really should have the authority to say their team should move to another division or conference? Good teams will succeed in either conference and bad teams will be bad in either conference. Play with hand you're dealt and be as competitive as you can and do what you feel is best for your team. As far as teams getting into the playoffs this year...only one team missed because of conference strength or imbalance. If you ranked the top 18 teams in our league, each conference would have 9 teams each.

This has nothing to do with the events of last week, though let the record show that I beat Scott the week before, last week was as lopsided as it was because Scott had a great week, and I had a sub-par one.

The issue here is the imbalance of conferences, nothing more, and nothing less. The reason I want to move is because I don't see another powerhouse volunteering to, and it requires that type of powerful team to make a difference, IMO.

Except that it doesn't work like that. The strength of conference and divisions not only dictates your place in the standings, but who you face, and thus how high in the standings you fair. If I were in the West this season for instance, the numbers suggest that I would be in first place, certainly top 3. As opposed to 6th overall, and having to face a top seeded team in each of the first three rounds (barring upset).

You can't just look at final points, and say X would finish here, and Y there. To use the Ottawa example, he was a powerhouse in the West last season, with very similar talent, and a goat in the East this season. Vancouver (formerly Buffalo) was a mediocre team in the East last season, and a powerhouse in the West this season.

I don't know how you can say you would have finished 1st in the west when you failed to beat the team that actually did finish 1st in the west.

Kareem is right though you cant look at points and say it was even as the west played the west and east played east. There is very clearly a difference in power levels and for anyone to deny that is completely retarded. I would like to believe that it will eventually work itself out but it may not. We should at least consider some action at some point. I think we should wait until the playoffs are over over so this can get full attention though.

CHI: 3468-6112-1092 = 8028

on what earth are those comparable? IF you want to compare VAN-STL and NSH-MIN then yes it works but you are left with COL-CHI and im sorry that does not translate to even out the divisions. Your division is by far the weakest in BBKL and should be the first altered in the west if some moves were made and I dont think anyone can give an educated argument otherwise.

Yeah, that is why Facey moved to the SE, I even spearheaded the movement, but I don't see Mike or Kyle volunteering to move out of the NE, and that is the type of team it would require to balance divisions (or at least a start). Ergo, why I am volunteering.

If: Scott, Nick, Kyle, Shiv or Mike want to volunteer to switch, I will gladly retract my statement.
