ye, Julien demands 5 guys back in the neutral zone and 5 between their man and the net... seriously restricted cycle game and I'm not sure if this is coach or w/e, but basically no bruin makes a one on one move on a rush, which is by far Wheelers greatest attribute.

In 08 Wheeler was a 1-timer machine, right handed shot playing on the left side, sometimes on the point, and seemed to be alive offensively... now he's a checking machine with an active stick and even quicker stride... as his fantasy owner I'm hoping those 2 players come together... 2 way stud...Back with his buddy Kessel could be just the thing, god know's he brings 3 things any line with kessel really needs.

1. Gotta be able to skate with Phil.
2. Gotta be big, cause Phil is not.
3. Gotta be good in your own zone, cause Phil is not.

I'm not even a Wheeler fan, and I am in complete support of Nick here, plus he has seen more than his fair share of Leafs games this season. If he thinks Wheeler is being restricted in Boston, chances are there is more upside to come.

I agree with Nick mostly but i wouldn't say he is being restricted. He has been getting bounced around between 3rd and 4th line all season. When he is making those one on one moves down the board he has been coughing the puck up a lot more frequently. The guy is a big body and when he uses it i find he is productive. The guy would be money in TO with Phil. I actually hope he is not moved tbh. I dont think he has reached his potential. He had that breakout year with Ryder and Krejci but the chemistry hasnt been there since.

With regards to Kaberle, I honestly dont know what to expect from him at this point in his career. Maybe you guys can give more insight. I read a lot about Leafs fans wanting to move him. Is he still productive? Has his defense been that bad?

Kaberle is a stud, still one of the best, if not the best puck movers in hockey. He skates the puck up the ice, and out of trouble with ease. On top of that, Kaberle has the ability to relieve pressure with whomever he plays with by transitioning the play up ice, he still QB's the pp as well as anyone, and is beginning to shoot more which was a knock on him for many years.

The big negatives are that he seems to have lost that passion here in TOR, undoubtedly because of the trade rumors the last few years, and inability to compete past the first two weeks of the season. The defense isn't elite, never was, but Kaberle plays smart positionally and is FAR from a liability in his own end. If you have the supporting cast, and the Bruins do, you will find the puck spends more time in the opponents zone, then your own with Kabs on the ice.

+1
Leaf fans wanting to trade him are idiots. Hes a huge talent, but again the constant rumors and all his friends being shipped out of town have taken a toll on him. Hes got the ability to make phenomenal plays and better vision than most give him credit for. With the talent around him hes easily one of the premier PMD in the league.

When people ask me about Kaberle on the street, I often defer to one line, "If you thought Dan Boyle was good when he went to SJS..."

I might even go as far to say he is the best PPQB in the NHL.. Kabs is so elite with the puck on his stick. I used to be a big fan, I'm a fan still and would probably absolutely love watching him play with a team like Boston. That powerplay would definitely have a huge spike in production if they landed Kabs. They are badly missing someone like Tomas.

Acquiring Tomas would be the smartest trade Chia Pet could make.. JML is a plug compared to what Tomas can do offensively...

BOOM. This is my prog being 100% ska.

I agree completley.

Heres my thing, I think he is indeed one of the best PP dman in the league and one of the best puck moving dmen in the league and would hate to lose him from our team, however, kaberles performance here when he doesnt want to be here is something that worries me which brings me to the fact of being okay to move him providing we get some big needs back in return.

Good reads boys. Very informative. Now with that said, whats the over under that he is dealt to Beantown with the most recent developments? Based on your opinions it actually kind of excites me if it goes down. Boston is missing some key pieces and he fits one of those holes. I have also considered some other d-men that could potentially go to Boston. If Bogosian is truly available, Boston has the resources to overpay for him. Would he fill the hole this season though and is that a smart move at this time? Who are some of the biggest offensive D-men targets this deadline?

Bogo is no where near as polished as Kaberle... as expected given his age and the point difference, but he's a phenomenal skater and very hard shooter. With all that said he fails to make the game look very easy, in fact he makes it way to difficult. Price on him is still likely >>>> Kaberle, as he's RFA, young and still blue-chip status.
