Re: Daily Leafs laughter...
You know what's really funny? Despite not scoring in however many games, and playing with AHL'ers for linemates, Phil Kessel still has 5 more goals than Nathan Horton.

Hey Shep, you think you can photoshop Nathan into that poster?

Re: Daily Leafs laughter...
haha. I posted this just for you too. They are quite similar eh? I'd way rather have Kessel at 1.4 million more. Horton's +20 compared to Kessel's -19 is just terrible. And you regret to state that while not having as many goals he has 1 point less than Kessel. Failed attempt at a silly post about a Leaf player. But i agree with you, too an extent, that Horton had a real bad slump this year. The big difference though is that he is a supporting cast and the Bruins can afford to have a player doing that while the Leafs franchise was put on the shoulders of Kessel and Phaneuf this season. Worked out well...You can have Kessel. I will take Horton, Seguin, Knight and more any day...twice on Sunday.
Re: Daily Leafs laughter...
Still though.. what's Horton's excuse? He plays on one of the best teams in the league and has that supporting cast. Kessel plays with AHL level talent. Although I would rather Horton, still...mr. bruin wroteCOLONhaha. I posted this just for you too. They are quite similar eh? I'd way rather have Kessel at 1.4 million more. Horton really doesnt have an excuse, tbh. He has never reached that 30 goal season he had. I cant really put a finger on it. Now that he is playing full time with Lucic and Krejci though he has been playing a lot better and putting up points. The guy hits one pile of posts, i can say that. I just hope he doesnt turn out to be a Ryder for 4 mil. Your right though, he should be the go to guy and he really hasnt been.

Re: Daily Leafs laughter...
The fact that you just pointed to +/- as a pro for Horton, shows both an understanding of the game of hockey, and a simple stat. Good teams, and more specifically, good lines tend to be on the ice for more goals for than against. A simple look at the top +/- stats on a year to year basis demonstrates that, hell you just need to look at Kessel's stats when he was last a Bruin (+23). Anyways, you enjoy that unmotivated goal scorer with 14 goals (LOL), who was also traded off a young Panthers team for poor character and rumors of locker room issues. At least he is younger than Kessel, so I'm sure there is more upside to come, oh wait...But hey, it worked out well for you guys, you only gave up Wideman and Forbort...mr. bruin wroteCOLONhaha. In all seriousness, it can only be one of two things, he is, as the rumors suggest unmotivated and disinterested on a game to game basis, OR he just isn't as good as everyone thought.mr. bruin wroteCOLONHorton really doesnt have an excuse, tbh. Re: Daily Leafs laughter...
I think he is quite interested and from interviews i have heard is really excited to be a Bruin and tries extra hard but I just dont think he is all that he was cracked up to be. He is not a 3rd overall from the 2003 draft, thats for sure. The guy tries hard and puts out the effort but the result isn't what it should be. He is not a top line RW imo. He is a nice 2nd liner who should be putting up 30 goal seasons consistently. Not quite sure if that will happen again....I had pretty damn high hopes with the way he started the season, kinda fell off the radar though.

Re: Daily Leafs laughter...
I had high hopes of Dion Phaneuf and Phil Kessel at the start of the season (still do), shit happens...And to be fair, Juliens system does typically take some time to get used to. I wouldn't write him off as a first liner until at least the midway point of next season.mr. bruin wroteCOLONI think he is quite interested and from interviews i have heard is really excited to be a Bruin and tries extra hard but I just dont think he is all that he was cracked up to be. I think we found him.

As a follow up, has anyone seen this child?
Last seen in the Bruins press box.

Re: Daily Leafs laughter...
Bruins lose 3 in a row. Grabo and Kessel tear about the bruins tonight fucking awesome game. Hope Grabos aright, but he wanted that last goal bad.
Re: Daily Leafs laughter...
A concussed Grabo scores the goal of the year for the leafs...beauty
Re: Daily Leafs laughter...
grabo - 2 concussions and goal of the year in the same game.
Re: Daily Leafs laughter...
Grabovski was BEAST tonight. Thomas has been super SHAKY last three games and i think the word is out. Go high...he goes down every freaking time and his blocker side high is so week....The Leafs play the Bruins real hard every game and i find it absolutely amazing that this same team is not sitting in the playoffs right now. Well deserved win by the Leafs. They played the entire game and didn't quit. The Bruins are about to start the February funk and they are not in a very comfortable spot to begin one.

I was going to talk trash, but this is a very objective view on the game, so I will extend that same courtesy back.mr. bruin wroteCOLONGrabovski was BEAST tonight. I think Thomas was shaky, word on the street is that there is some fatigue there, might be a good idea to give Rask a few extra starts, and rest Thomas for the playoffs. If Kaberle is moved to Boston, that will make a huge difference, outside of Chara the Bruins really lack a mobile defenceman that can move the puck out of the zone.
Re: Daily Leafs laughter...
I'm surprised Thomas got this start, really thought rask would of gotten it. Glad he did though.
Boston has just been too inconsistent, you can see that the talent is there, but the effort is lacking far too often. Too many guys disappear for too many stretches, seems like some have the work ethic but just not the talent to finish it off all the time. I was also startled to hear the Bruins home record, you have to be great at home to get deep into the playoffs.
Any insight on what happened to Krejci and Wheeler over the last few years? Wheelers rookie campaign he looked like he'd be a dominate power forward, Krejci made Bergeron look expendable too, few years later seems like both have taken steps back.

Re: Daily Leafs laughter...
Marc Savard opened up the ice for everyone, not to mention that Wideman was a legit puck moving threat that season, it seemed like a perfect storm really, and frankly both the Bruins and Sharks should have been in the finals that season. Julien's system can not be understated either, it places a great emphasis on forwards coming back to make up for the defencies on defense.inferno31 wroteCOLONI'm surprised Thomas got this start, really thought rask would of gotten it.
