I think it's more that no one seems to rag on some of the vet GMs, and although I like what this trade allows me to do -> I know full well that I lost this trade if it's viewed in isolation.

Purely as a player I'd have to disagree.

Gonchar is on the 2nd lowest scoring team in the NHL, and still has more points then Daley... in reality he probably blocks more shots but the #'s are rather easy to come by in Dallas (hits too, yet gonchar has double). Gonchar still works the point on the powerplay as well as anyone in the NHL.

Now given their cap difference, perceived bbkl value... well then I'd likely have to agree.
