agree.inferno31 wroteCOLONI agree with Nick in the fact it isn't Bias in the sense of the word, it doesn't favour one team over another. However it is stupid, a smaller sample size is much less likely to dictate a teams true ability, and this smaller sample size will hold the same weight in the overall standings as the rest of the weeks do = stupid. The fact that we treat shortened weeks earlier in the season in a different manner makes it even stranger.
this is what i brought up on msn with someone of the CC a few days ago, i think it was Billy.inferno31 wroteCOLON How about a better solution.
Any points garnered this week are multiplied by 0.5 and added to the standings as such. Its half a week, treat it in the standings as half a week.
Seems a good solution especially if, as it seems, we can't revise weeks on CBS.
However, i think this should only apply starting with next season.
Re: Opponent SMACK
Isn't part of the argument that a short week against a particular opponent is not enough of a sample to be deemed as a true matchup? Therefore wouldn't multiplying by 0.5 just be increasing the unfairness that much more? I would like to keep the short week and add it to the following weeks totals against the SAME opponent.
So for example if i am going against Kareem this week and I am winning by say 12-2-2 then next week comes around and he wins 11-4-1. We total the scores and figure out who won what and that gets reflected in our own updated standings.

aaaand...kyuss wroteCOLON Me and goaltenders.
So.. Backstrom went down to a hip injury at a bad time.. (Khudobin played instead.. shutout and another W with great stats with the Wild team playing well).. after a couple of weeks i surrendered to the idea of paying for a backup.. on paper i would have needed one anyway... and eventually, albeit reluctantly, i accepted to give up Lepisto to get Auld.
Alex had great numbers till this past week.. with 2 back2backs coming up for Montreal, i was able to dress him after the deal.
first game in, Montreal leads 4-0 at home vs Calgary, he manages to get pulled after giving up 4 in a row and fail to get Montreal W, thus awarded to Price. Meanwhile he spoils my G stats, somehow wasting Backstrom shutout.
If i didn't have Auld for one more week, i would have been forced to dress Holtby, who was then suddenly called up and played outstanding, earning 2 Wins and great stats.
I would have won all G stats, with Auld i lost all of them aside from SO.
Of course the previous time i played Holtby he was abysmal and spoiled Backstrom's stats making me lose all G stats once again.
Tonight he is dressed against the Rangers, i hope it will be Gaborik and Zucca to light him up at least!
Holtby played great again, but was beaten by one of the flukest goal of the season, a crazy bounce off Gaborik glove with few minutes left.. lost shutout and Win as a result.
My G stats over the 3 days week were 1.44 GAA, 0.952 SV% and 1 Win; that was enough to.. lose all those stats once again lol, as Hong recorded 1.01 GAA, 0.964 GAA and 2 Wins.
Losing the SHTOI by a .079 margin was the final touch on another missed win.
The matchup was indeed very close though.
Now it's Bryzgalov and STLouis next.
We faced already in the first week of the season, i was destroyed 0-13-3..
but this time, i'm confident...
very confident..
..that i will win at least one stat!
You had 35 pts that week Shep, after your last weeks that happening again would drive me mad
Re: Opponent SMACK
Billy just goin off on me tonight...The hawks put in 7 goals and Kopecky with no points and -3. Letestu out on crutches so there's 4 games lost. Good start to a short week...I see an ugly one coming from the B's this week. On a good sign Callahan potted one in his first game back and Horton broke his slump so thats good for the real B's. and Nick
Re: Opponent SMACK
To be fair Billy lost 4 games by the STL/COL game being delayed.mr. bruin wroteCOLONBilly just goin off on me tonight...The hawks put in 7 goals and Kopecky with no points and -3. and TG Nate decided to score, no one else on my team did; Jordan was too busy delivery a gloved, visually soft but apparently a KO punch to Brandon " Guo Jingjing " Prust.

Did i just get burned by Henrik Karllsson and his 6 mins on ice? With his 1.000 SV% Not good...
Re: Opponent SMACK
Happened to me last week with stupid Ty Conlkin... 11 saves but 1.000 SV% & 0.00GAA ... i even had a shutout in the week but still just split the tending categories!!! Brutal. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this small, but annoying glitch in our choice of goalie categories I'd love to hear it.mr. bruin wroteCOLONDid i just get burned by Henrik Karllsson and his 6 mins on ice? Re: Opponent SMACK
Well, it would be nice to have a min games played in a matchup. Would have to be 2. But since we have a max goalie games played (do we??)this may be duplication???
Re: Opponent SMACK
But if a team only plays twice (happens) and your tender and backup are on different teams, it's very plausible that you only get 1 goalie-gp.mr. bruin wroteCOLONWell, it would be nice to have a min games played in a matchup. Re: Opponent SMACK
Wow, could we be any closer in almost all categories, Mike? Great battle...

Yah that was a tight one but nice win. Hopefully we meet again in a few weeks.mr. bruin wroteCOLONWow, could we be any closer in almost all categories, Mike? Great battle...
