MSN alternatives

Hey,
Any of you guys know good MSN alternatives, something where I can maybe combine my gchat list and msn list together. Windows live messenger has been freezing on my computer with regularity, I updated it and no luck. Nothing else is freezing or hanging just it, and I'm not entirely sure why (running windows 7). I've tried to use ebuddy but looking for something now instead to combine gchat and msn instead. I know theres a few things that exist, I used pidgin a few years ago, but not sure whats the best thing to use now.

Although I like aMSN, if you are looking to combine multiple chat clients into one Digsby is a good option. Note though: during installation make sure to uncheck all the bundled software. Also, once installed, comb throw the settings and uncheck the ads and such.
