iirc should be eligible for slide, but too tired right now to look into it, hopefully will remember about this tomorrow ahah
His deal and several of the other March ELC signings don't kick in until 2023-24. I do still like to enter those into my database even if they aren't technically under contract until after the season.
As far as you're concerned for this season, he's still considered unsigned.

Gotta like Peterson landing in SJ.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
The van Riemsdyk situation was kind of funny to follow on Twitter. I imagine the Wings were going to be middle-man of a 3-way deal and they'd retain salary but they couldn't find a final home for him.
When the reports were coming out that they acquired him, I was intially thinking why would they just acquire him? The only thought that crossed my mind was for them to add a steady veteran to the roster and they'd sign him to short but reasonable extension.
I had that all wrong...Yzerman was probably flipping him. I think he did the right thing with this deadline...he moved out two guys on expiring deals, he got rid of half of Vrana's salary and got a nice return on Hronek.
Sundqvist is a very solid bottom six winger for the Wild to add. He got a lot of looks on the power play in Detroit as the net front presence. I wonder if he can just replace some of the things Jordan Greenway was doing there.

Thompson, Chabot and Vilardi all injuried.
It was reported that they were all bruised up and played injuried during the series vs Oilers. Especially Vilardi, who was tasked to put up a shot on net but failed to do so while playing with an upper body injury.
