Reminder: unless you have a goalie system (ie two goalies from the same nhl team as your tandem) then you are limited to 4 goalie starts per playoff week. if you start to studs in net and your goalies go over 4 starts you lose goalie stats.

not entirely true though:

4-5-2 : No team can exceed four (4) goalie starts in a playoff matchup. If a team exceeds the playoff 4-goalie-starts per week limit, all Wins recorded by its goalies will be erased. Furthermore, eventual shutouts recorded by the goalie with less starts will be erased as well (all shutouts recorded will be erased if the goalies have the same number of starts; in that scenario exceeding the total of 4 means at least 3 starts each, hence breaking the limit by 2).
The above limit is raised to 5 if one of the goalies' NHL team plays 5 games that particular week.

That was a close week vs Will's Stars, barely came out on top.

Just realized the Leafs cut down the gap to less than 50 pts in the final standings, must have been on a roll!
Still finished over 100 pts above the 2nd team in the West and first ever Presidents trophy for my Preds, only had won 1 Campbell trophy in the past.

You had a helluva season for yourself. Ovechkin is still producing and you're obviously benefiting from the breakouts of Thompson and Morrissey. Tavares and Lindholm are still solid contributors. Your defense is very strong and you've got some depth in goal.

Finishing 10th or 11th in the conference was something I wasn't interested in doing anymore. The funny thing is I think the East now might been more competitive if I was hovering around the playoffs like before. I had a decent team then but the top 8 in the East were definitely out of my reach. My roster construction wasn't sustainable.

I think the issue for you is that the top 8 in the West has wide gap from the next 8 teams. You just have to decide which pool you want to swim in. One foot in and one foot out is a tough place to be.
