That's interesting they decided to wait to sign him but then again, Ekblad is on LTIR and they probably didn't have the cap room to signing anyone. They claimed Josh Mahura to round out their defense but he's on a league minimum salary. They probably only had enough room to add one league minimum salary. They're only carrying 12 forwards and it wasn't until Ekblad went on LTIR that they could carry more than 6 defensemen.

Some teams really wrung out the rag in terms of cap space...leaving very little wiggle room. It does seem more teams are willing be "capped out" and play the LTIR game with their cap.

Woah - reaves moved eh? Guess Drury trying to light a fire but that guy is gotta be a big off (and on) the ice impact for that team… super surprising. Also bummed leaf’s didn’t get in on it.

Can’t say I’ve seen reaves play this year, so maybe he’s a liability but still think his presence is net positive on any team.

That hit from Romanov on Miles Wood is like the perfect open ice hit for the new NHL. Straight to the chest and Wood despite going at high speed seemed to fly backwards somewhat. Clean but could be an injury. If it was 20 years ago and Romanov had gone for the head it could have been a career ender.
