Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
I'll try to get the NHL draft results up as soon as I can this weekend...going to be fascinating to see how many of our guys go undrafted. It seems like a lot of us dipped in the 2020 and 2021 draft pools. The hit rate on the 2022 draftees will be interesting.
Still waiting on Morrison and Sova out of my group...

1st Round: (22) Jiri Kulich -6

5th Round: (159) Samuel Savoie +78
6th Round: (163) Maddox Fleming undrafted
7th Round: (199) Joe Miller overager
Not a big draft in CGY and missed on Fleming but overall ended up +82 on my picks.

Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
I've got to go through and confirm identities for all the drafted players in my database but here's a few stats:
1 player taken in our 2020 draft was taken in the 2022 NHL draft
36 players from the our 2020 draft remain undrafted
4 players taken in our 2021 draft were taken in the 2022 NHL draft
45 players from the our 2021 draft remain undrafted
(unconfirmed) 44 players from our 2022 draft are undrafted in the NHL draft
Logan Morrison (88th overall) is the highest player taken in our draft to go undrafted
Jordan Dumais (40th overall) in the lowest drafted player in the 1st or 2nd round of our draft (taken 96th overall in the NHL draft)
2 players taken in the 7th round of our draft went in the 2022 NHL 2nd round

Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
Can we talk about the fact that Elias Pettersson might get to play with Elias Pettersson

I’m not surprise where Jordan Dumais was taken in the draft. I even said I was definitely reaching but felt someone would have taken him in the 50’s in bbkl. My prediction for him was mid 3rd and possibly late 2nd. What I regret the most was not following my gut on two guy’s that I won’t name instead of Niks Fenenko and Hudson Thornton. Also should have taken Fraser Minten Who I felt and still feel have a low ceilling but a good floor as bottom 6 instead I went after a guy that had a higher ceilling in Brandon Lisowsky. I thought minten would have went in the third round and Lisowsky around 4th round to 5th at the latest. Shit happened and I’ll do better next year.
Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
congratulations to linus sjodin and victor mancini for being drafted
Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
1.24 Isaac Howard 1.31 -7
1.26 Lian Bichsel 1.18 +8
2.37 Nathan Gaucher 1.22 +15
2.39 Maveric Lamoureux 1.29 +10
2.54 Reid Schaefer 1.32 +22
3.94 Isaiah George 4.98 -4
4.118 Jack Devine 7.221 -103
5.160 Daniil Ivanov undrafted
6.164 Beau Jelsma undrafted
6.187 Taige Harding 3.91 2021
Added 5 1st round picks to a prospect pool that was getting really thin. It cost me Hronek, Marchessault for 3 of three of them and then Taylor Hall trade in 2020 got me 2 more and Mason Lohrei. Could all be busts, but seems like good returns right now.
George, Devine, Ivanov and Jelsma were all late picks so not expecting much.

1. #16 - Ivan Miroshnichenko (20 - WSH -4)
1. #20 - Noah Östlund (16 - BUF +4)
2. #41 - Filip Bystedt (27 - SJ +14)
2. #50 - Julian Lutz (43 - ARZ +7)
2. #52 - Topi Ronni (55 - CGY -3)
2. #63 - Mats Lindgren (106 - BUF -43)

3. #96 - Otto Salin (148 - LAK -52)
4. #102 - Jakub Malik (2021:100 - NJ)
5. #135 - Elias Pettersson (80 - VAN +55)
5. #148 - Oskar Jellvik (2021:149 - BOS)
6. #177 - Veit Oswald (undrafted)

7. #206 - Filip Nordberg (64 - OTT +142)
7. #209 - Theo Wallberg (168 - OTT +41)
7. #222 - Andrei Malyavin (undrafted)
Happy with my players' destinations, in particular with A.Johansson going to Detroit almost 3 rounds earlier than where I picked him. Nice to see all those less-than-popular Swedish D rise in the draft.
Didn't expect Lindgren to drop beyond the 3rd round, and thought Oswald earned a late round pick at the U18s despite the weak junior league he plays in, but happy with the outcome overall. Malyavin going undrafted this year was not surprising, hopefully that looks different next year.
Pretty stocked about my two 1st rounders, took quite a lot of risks by selecting wild cards like Miro, Dolzhenkov and Salin in the early rounds, but I think I'm in a position where I can afford missing out on some players while trying to add some who could make a big impact down the road, rather than just making it.

Not thrilled with Geekie going to ARZ but Im glad he didnt drop like some pundits predicted. Personally happy the habs drafted Rohrer. Was sure someone would have taken Hejduk but he passed through. Hoping Johansson might turn into something.

1. Shane Wright (4 SEA = -3)
3. Juraj Slafkovsky (1 MTL = +2)
31. Ryan Chesley (37 WSH = -6)
33. Gleb Trikozov (60 CAR = -27)
97. Quinn Finley (78 NYI = +19)
101. Miko Matikka (67 ARZ = +34)
126. Jeremy Langlois (94 ARZ = +32)
129. Kenny Connors (103 LAK = +26)
161. Vsevolod Komarov (134 BUF = +27)
Trikozov was definitely a russian wildcard but I like him being the Hurricanes first pick and all my later picks went sooner if that even means anything.
Edit: Added Langlois

203. Evan Konyen (undrafted)

Also, two of my 2021 picks were drafted this year:
207. Dmitri Buchelnikov (52, +155)
214. Mikey Milne (89, +125)
Odd draft for me, overall. Was obviously surprised that Kemell fell to 17, but far more surprised that Odelius dropped to the top of the third.

Gotta love how good Jordan Dumais is currently doing;
54 pts - 19g - 25 a - 25 gp - + 20
