2022 Draft Discussion
Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
We need to stop signing shit players only to have to pay to trade them away a year later.
They are trying to do the same shit again with Matt Murray

Not surprising in this draft. Could have easily gone the other way. Good early return though.Matthew wroteCOLONBbkl buffalo doing well in this draft

Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
Ya that was pretty much as good of a 1st round as I could have. Turned 15th, 16th and Marchessault into 5 1st rounders.
Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
well he got the oversized trio going higher, which is not surprising. Now, as for them becoming any good, that's a different matterMatthew wroteCOLONBbkl buffalo doing well in this draft

Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
I think several teams did well with their multiple 1sts last night.
Seattle has to be very excited getting two quality centers to build around at the top of their first two drafts. I'm sure they wouldn't have minded taking one of those two top defensemen. Slafkovsky going #1 was the domino leading to the Devils passing on the centers and taking Nemec. Jiricek sliding to 6 was a bit of a surprise...could've gone to Seattle or Philadelphia.
The Kraken are off to a better start than the Golden Knights in terms of having stronger building blocks through the draft. Vegas seemed more eager to push all-in and lean on having a veteran roster and try being a contender annually. Going to the final in the first year had to have dramatically changed their plans. The Kraken being bad in year one keeps their focus on building for the long haul.

Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
I truly believe that the Flyers are going to rue the day they passed on Jiricek for Gauthier.
Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
They probably would've ruined him anyway. I'm pretty sure Cutter was their target months ago. Wouldn't have been who I picked, but Fletcher is working on getting himself fired anyway, so whatever.Brian wroteCOLONI truly believe that the Flyers are going to rue the day they passed on Jiricek for Gauthier.

The 2nd round is flying by...hadn't checked in on the results until now.
Owen Beck to the Canadiens to open the round...I think I like that?

Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
Is Noah Laba the first BBKL undrafted player to go?
edit: I don't see Stephen Halliday either

Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
Ben King is another name I don't see on our draft list.
Took a while for the goalies to start moving. Two Finnish goalies in the 2nd and then Brennan and Beaupit go in the 4th.

Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
Had my eye on Ben King all through our draft. Thought for a bit about trading into the late 7th to get him, but decided not to.

I saw his name on THN's top 100...balked at picking him.
There's a few BBKL undrafted guys going in this 4th round.
