Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
How is a prospect who is listed on every draft eligible lists for 2022 only eligible for our waiver draft? If he had of gone updrafted this year he would then become waiver eligible

I didn't realize he was 21 but he is too old to be drafted in our draft:
2022 Entry Draft Eligibility
All BBKL-free players (players not owned by any BBKL team) born between January 1, 2002 and September 15, 2004 are eligible for selection in the 2022 BBKL Entry Draft.
Additionally, BBKL-free players born in 2001 that have not played in North America when 18, 19 or 20 years old are eligible as well*.
All other BBKL-free players are eligible for the waiver draft instead.
Please everyone note that:
- Older European players that may still be eligible for the NHL Entry Draft and re-enter it are not eligible for the BBKL Entry Draft, even if our outdated CBA may suggest otherwise (see the Andersen case last year)
- BBKL Entry Draft eligibility is not affected by the fact the prospect may already be signed or not by a NHL team
* Odd case as an example:
Player born in 2001, non-North American, hasn't played a game in North America, overseas season ends, comes over, plays a game in the AHL:
if that game in AHL comes after he turned 21, he is eligible for the 2022 Entry Draft, otherwise he is not and gets reserved for the waiver draft instead.

Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
It took until the 5th round but we finally bumped into some drafted players that aren't in the Fantrax database.
6th round order is posted.

Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
Just saw that on the draft order, pick 143 shows as Mattias Havelid, but should be Hugo Havelid.
Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
I'm just waiting on someone to get back to me on an offer before I make this pick. If I don't here from them in the next hour or so, I'll make my selection
Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
pretty sure Edmonds is eligible. I've temporarily deleted your re-draft pick while we wait for CC to announce a decision on the matterThe BBKL Insider wroteCOLONRe-drafted

Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
Can we pause the draft until this is sorted?
Thank you.
Thank you.

These are the updated rules currently in the CBA:
1. ENTRY DRAFT (June 1st each year, beginning at 10am EDST)
1-1 : Players who turn eighteen (18) years of age before the fifteenth of September and are no older than twenty (20) years of age by the thirty-first of December are eligible for selection.
1-2 : Ruling also applies for unselected prospects when trying to claim during period before set roster submission. Roster submission is the Monday of the First Week of NHL Season.
1-3 : If during the drafting process a pick is forfeited due to expired time or invalid selection (ineligible player). The GM will be given the opportunity to select at the conclusion of that round. If that GM fails to pick again, pick is forfeited entirely.
1-4 : A compensation pick will be granted for deceased players, at the end of the round they were originally selected.

Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
I drafted a guy that is eligable for the 2022 NHL draft (as an overager) but the pick was removed because there is a debale if he is eligable for our waiver draft or entry draft. A decision will be made soon - as per Mik.DApolloS wroteCOLONSorry, what's the issue?
Both of my picks have been deleted (even my re-draft) as this is being sorted out. We should know soon before you pick.
Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
Well when is his birthday? That should decide it pretty easily. We have specific draft parameters for this league

He turned 21 in January, so I should be able to draft him. He would have been 20 in DecemberDApolloS wroteCOLONWell when is his birthday? That should decide it pretty easily. We have specific draft parameters for this league

Lucas Edmonds was 20 years old on December 31st. Does this mean I can draft him?dave1959 wroteCOLONviewtopic.php?f=5&t=14161

Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
He was born January 27th, 2001. He would not be eligible as he has played in North America
Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
Don't see why the CC needs to be involved, it takes a few seconds to check this.

He would have been 20 on the 31st day of December.
Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
Ah, I see the issue. That seems weird. I guess the CC needs to fix the wording in one of those two texts.
Re: 2022 Draft Discussion
as far as I'm concerned the wording in the current CBA is correct.
It was even discussed by CC back in 2017
