Chicago Franchise Will Need a New GM
Chicago Franchise Will Need a New GM
Hi all,
Life's gotten very busy recently, two ACTIVE kids under 3, and a promotion at work that has me working more than I care to admit. Unfortunately I need to start taking a step back with the extracurriculars to make time for everything else.
I'll be active as much as possible until a replacement can be found, and am hoping to keep my login to be able to check in every now and then. Maybe in a few years things will settle down at work, and I'll find myself in a groove that will allow me to re-join. Until then I will admire and/or my judge my team's new leader from afar.
Fingers crossed my replacement gets to start things off with the 1st overall pick!
Best,
Mark

Mark let me know about this at the end of February, but was willing to finish the season as it's better to replace a GM in the offseason then during.
Thanks for your time and sorry you have to leave and can't see your rebuild begin to pay off.

I appreciate you letting us know, Mark. It's impossible to have (now) 32 GMs and not expect the occasional departures. Work life and family life can definitely affect your participation in hobbies like this. You've worked very hard in rebuilding Chicago after Shiv left and I think there's still work left but I think it's going in a positive direction.
I too juggle with work and family all the time but I think for me work is settling down for me to the point where that won't get in the way beyond normal work time. Family definitely comes first for me but when I have free time, I try to give as much of my time to this as necessary. I love participating and contributing but I know free time is much different after you become a parent.
All the best to you and your family and I hope everything works out with your job.

I too may have a replacement, he is the king of Sim (fhl) hockey and runs several leagues.

It's good to have multiple people we can call on if needed.

The Team is heading in the right direction. The new GM will have three 1st round picks and ample cap space to work with. I just feel bad leaving, knowing that some new unsuspecting GM is going to get bombarded with terrible Matthew offers.
Re: Chicago Franchise Will Need a New GM
LOL. Isn't that a good enough reason to stay? just hire a co-GM to go through these busy couple of yrs

This is a shame! Hate losing a quality gm . Life always gotta come first though. Still wish you’d stay even if that meant dialling back the activity by 90+%

Wish I could... but for fantasy sports, I don`t have the will power to dial back. It`s either all-in or nothing at all. Call it my only addiction that I need to cut back on haha.KapG wroteCOLONThis is a shame! Hate losing a quality gm . Life always gotta come first though. Still around - just not in an active role. When I see the opportunity to call out Matthew or laugh at Kimmer I won`t hesitate!KapG wroteCOLONFair enough bro.
