A rebuild is a rebuild... when you already have a better core then EVERY bottom team, then it's not a rebuild, it's a retool.

I disagree. A re-tool is changing some of your NHLers with different NHLers with the hopes of doing better. Steve is trading NHL pieces for picks and prospects, and thus letting his team get worse, and giving up on competing in the short term. To me, that's a re-build, especially in our league where you need most of your roster contributing solidly to compete. I think there are differing re-build, those who let their team fall to 20th while keeping some good pieces and hope they just draft well, and those that tear all the way down to last to get the best pick.

dam steve's team dwindled quite a bit
was looking to see who he can gimme 1 for 1 for mctavish, and came to a conclusion that no one single player is worth mctavish for me except Eichel

He did say younger players... with a core roster of Eichel and company, you're not going to take a 5-year break to ''rebuild'' while they rot. It'll be a quick turnaround, and my guess is that the Kings will be back to adding in the off-season.

Just my thoughts. You know how I like to share them.

Steve's had great success in the league...I think he knows what he's doing. He's always been at or near the top of the league but it just shows you that you can't stay there forever. I applaud him for the run his Kings have had pretty much since Day 1 of the league.
