2021 Draft Discussion
Re: 2021 Draft Discussion
I had a clear top 11 for this draft. Interested to see how the picks go now.
Re: 2021 Draft Discussion
we officially have a league resident reacher! (quinn lysell)
risk taker i like it

Re: 2021 Draft Discussion
Personally I wouldn’t be that surprised if any of the top 11 went number 1 in the real draft. However, yes not afraid to take risks. My team is in it for long haul in this league.

A roundtable question...
If Owen Power returns to Michigan for another year...as rumored/speculated...how many players out of this draft will be on an NHL roster in October?

Berniers and Eklund
Re: 2021 Draft Discussion
Could see McTavish play the season if say, CBJ drafts him, or someone who can slot him in down the lineup and let him learn.
Re: 2021 Draft Discussion
Yeah, but I don’t. This year, I think Beniers has the best chance, and I don’t think he’s NHL ready. Power would be closest.DApolloS wroteCOLONPeople say that all the time, but it still happens.Brian wroteCOLONBeyond 9 games? Zero.Shoalzie wroteCOLONA roundtable question...

Re: 2021 Draft Discussion
Figured it was an interesting topic considering we have yet another year of a flat cap, an expansion team entering the league (thus an extra roster-full of players), the pandemic affecting European and amateur leagues as well as scouting...what is the overall ripple effect?
Assuming things are normal-ish this fall and most hockey leagues are as close to full strength, would organizations opt for these drafted players to develop one extra year and thus, not start the clock on their ELC.

Re: 2021 Draft Discussion
Power depends completely on what direct Buffalo takes this year, if the try and compete to satisfy Eichel then he stays, if they trade Eichel then Power goes back to Michigan. Berniers to me is the next most ready and if he goes to Seattle like most seem to think he will then he has no chance to play because they are going to have too many players as is

Re: 2021 Draft Discussion
Also has there ever been a college player go 1st? What are the chances he stays 3 more years, gets his degree, watchs Buffalo burn like it always does, and choose his preferred landing spot?
Re: 2021 Draft Discussion
Erik Johnson played a year in college after going #1 not sure if there's been other #1s who played NCAA.
Re: 2021 Draft Discussion
I know everyone says they are taking Power, but it isn't a sure fire thing. Like it's been said, number 1 could be a number of players.CanadianRednek(TOR) wroteCOLONPower depends completely on what direct Buffalo takes this year, if the try and compete to satisfy Eichel then he stays, if they trade Eichel then Power goes back to Michigan.
