I’ll gladly take one of power + beniers/Clarke/Hughes over whoever at 7 and 20, 24, 30. Everyone been crying how bad draft is after top handful anyways lol.
If there`s one thing I have learned about this league is that you need depth more than elite talent to win anything, but having elite talent that is severely underpaid (cough, Mackinnon and Marchand, cough) is of course amazing.
But like you said - you do you. I think Kimmer made a real smart move to trade the 1OV. 7 still gets you a great player who could easily be as good as #1 and then three additional 1st rounders. Great way to add depth to his rebuild. I would have done the exact same thing in his shoes.
1, 3, 18, 19 and then three seconds including two in the top 10 of the 2nd round and then multiple 3rds as well. This was my plan all along.
I’m also not necessarily right at the start of my rebuild where quantity is important. I have a pretty solid prospect pool as it is and I’m still adding 9 picks in the first three rounds to it including #1 and #3 which will be Power and one of Hughes/Clarke/Beniers
