Confirmed

Great chats, this is probably the biggest hockey related trad ever made since trading away 3/4 of my floor hockey team in high school for 3/4 of another team.

Gibson + 3rd for campbell + 1st
Gibson is great but costs way more and being on a terrible team makes his stats bad the past few seasons. If Campbell continues putting up current stats it's good for Matt, but also gives good stability to Vegas.

Cirelli for acciari + forbort + foligno + sturm

Acciari is a value monster. 1.6m cap and like a top 40 center. Forbort does big periphs. Foligno gets pretty good stats but is older. Cirelli had a down year hopefully he bounces back.

Then there is a bunch of stuff in this deal no one knows anything about

This works for both teams, if vegas isn't planning to compete right away.

I like to call all that extra stuff canon fodder. Basically filler for my franchise. Gibson is putting up worse numbers, although mostly because like you said the Ducks suck right now, but he is also a little younger so fits my team a little better, even though it's only 2 years. Cirelli also brings more top 6 youth to my center core, with Thomas and steel being the other 2 young guns, so the future down the middle should be good.

As far as all the prospects and depth guys, we went back and forth on quite a few names, and I happen to like most of the guys I'm getting. Some have broken in, although only part time, but getting in the door is the hardest part. Lots of prospects that could pan out. I think this deal helps both my team and BUF.

I didn't realize there was only 2 pieces coming my way, could have sworn I had more coming my way in the deal.

I'm not as sold on Campbell as some seem to be. Sturm is meh, Foligno can be a good pickup at the right price on the right team and if healthy, Accairi and Forbort are good BBKL but bad NHL pieces.

TLDR: I think theres a lot of risk on both sides that evens this out somewhat and can see why both are interested in it

Yeah cirelli had a down year but he's only 23 and after the 19-20 season a lot of people were touting him as the next great 2 way forward and potential selke nominee type player in the future

Was, he has been here long enough and is in ADHL and NHLDL not an inexperienced GM.

I think Matthew broke it down pretty well. I’m taking a risk on Campbell that he is a super late bloomer, Gibson is younger and the superior goalie he has a track record of elite play when he has a half decent team and sets Seattle up long term.

Cirelli was 24th best C last year at 22 years old. No Kucherov hurt his stats a bit but this is a core piece and a young do it all C of course it’s going to be costly. Kraken gets the two best pieces and a bunch of minor league depth since he has almost none. I think Gruden and Tucker have upside, Hamaliuk Sharks used a 2nd on and Hofmann is a wild card who could step right into the Blue Jackets lineup. Pitlick and Caamano are close to breaking in as everyday guys. A couple pieces pan out and he is looking good.

I got all depth that’s at the bottom of my lineup and pieces that teams didn’t view as valuable enough to protect so no one can pretend I got all this value. I got financial flexibility and depth. For the past couple years I’ve had incredible injury luck and zero quality depth and wanted to change that for this season.

I guess I'm just not nearly as optimistic about the prospects exchanging hands as you are and Gibson is not in a good situation at all. At least Seattle has a goalie that is the unquestioned starter and will get a ton of games save for injury.
