This is the blockbuster we've been waiting for!
Re: Ana/Sea
Matthew not even giving me a chance to tell him no in my trade thread. What a shame.

Lock it in! 2022 BBKL CHAMPION!
Probably no point to even play next year, nobody stands a chance.

Chicago GM is just jealous of the Seattle team, but also frustrated by their missed opportunties. Now equally excited to be proven wrong!Bruyns wroteCOLONI'm enjoying this CHI/SEA rivalry

Decent buy for David. Granted, Sherwood isn't waiver exempt. He basically got a player that you can get off waivers for a 7th rounder.

Teams can only do the rebuild/build thing for so many years before it's gotta start moving you towards being competitive on a regular basis. Some can do it faster than others...depends on where you started from and has your early round picks turned into players.
That Chicago roster was in really bad shape when you joined the league so you've obviously made significant progress. You don't quite know what you have with all your young players yet. Success can happen next year or three years from now. I think some teams who perennially rebuild will almost resent the fact their team might actually improve because it means less years in the lottery. You have to have the end goal of wanting to compete for a championship or be a mainstay in the playoffs...or else why bother?
Of all the teams that picked in the top 5 (and didn't actually trade their pick away)...how many are seeing some regular success right now? It can be a long climb out from the bottom of the standings. It doesn't take a lot of effort to lose but it's tough to climb over a lot of teams in the league to become respectable, if not a contender.
Re: Ana/Sea
Yeah my team could very well surprise this year with the development of a few youngsters, but I imagine I'll be about the same range for a couple of years. I'll need some lottery luck in 2022 to get a real good player and then we shall see. Stutzle/Byram/2022 pick is hopefully going to be my core moving forward and I'll build from there.Shoalzie wroteCOLONDa_Hawks wroteCOLONSpaghetti meet wall - see what sticks. Hawks plan. Works great.

20 new NHL roster slots + bench spots opening due to expansion. Some Fringe NHLers will be full timers next year and Some will provide good periphs.Da_Hawks wroteCOLONHave plenty of fringe NHL'ers, thanks.
