Mock Draft
Re: Mock Draft
so if Kreider is available and you don't want Malkin, how would you pick Lindblom ahead of Kreider?
Re: Mock Draft
What are you even talking about Mik? He had cancer I mean we are literally just coming up on 1 full calendar year since his last round of chemo and played a full condensed season.
Re: Mock Draft
Bc I would easily pick Lindblom ahead of Kreider if I'm building a team. It's cool though. People tried to tell me Couturier would never amount to anything more than a 4th line pk specialist either.kyuss wroteCOLONso if Kreider is available and you don't want Malkin, how would you pick Lindblom ahead of Kreider?
Re: Mock Draft
I never said I'd pick Lindblom that was Will. I've just been saying that Malkin isn't some slam dunk pick.kyuss wroteCOLONso if Kreider is available and you don't want Malkin, how would you pick Lindblom ahead of Kreider?
I view things different than other GMs being all in on contending and up against the cap. If Casper offered me Malkin for a 2nd I'd turn it down, I can't fit that cap hit and I'd have to trade multiple productive players on good contracts to make it work and my team would likely be worse. Would I like him for a 2nd to then flip him for a 1st? Sure but I'm not confident I could pull that off, I struggled to get a 1st for Hall last offseason.
I also wouldn't take Josi if you offered him to me for a 2nd. Malkin and Josi aren't bad players they just don't fit into a salary structure of a competitive team unless they are surrounded by elite talent on ELCs so if a team like KapG's hit on a bunch of prospects then 100% adding stars on huge contracts should be his goal as they would be cheaper to acquire. You have a revolving door of cheap talent with all the prospects and picks you acquire so you can fit in a Josi, but I don't have that luxury.

Re: Mock Draft
I wouldn't give up on Lindblom just because he had a down year and given what his last 18-24 months have been like. I think from a fantasy-perspective the Colorado exposed list offered several more enticing options. Krieder signed a very digestible contract. If signed for $7 or 8 million, no way would I have drafted him. I think he's still a solid value.
Malkin doesn't offer a lot of long-term value. Maybe you draft him in this format if you want to compete now. Otherwise, you probably shouldn't take on players who are in their mid-30s and don't have a lot of "resale value".

Re: Mock Draft
like anyone else who had cancer, unfortunately he is at risk of the disease to come back, especially during the first 5 yrs I believe.CasperX22 wroteCOLONWhat are you even talking about Mik? The other thing I'm talking about is since coming back he hasn't looked like the same player, to the point he has been a healthy scratch multiple times.
