Scott cornering the market on 33+ year old goalies. That's now 4. Add a couple more and he may have a monopoly.
Carey Price trade incoming?

Re: Trade: DAL-DET
This is my only "big purchase" of the offseason.
I like a tandem of Talbot and Bernier going forward and I think either guy has some resale potential if they perform well. I think Hutton and Schneider are probably done or are close to done. I'm trying to get through the next two or three years before I make the next big investment in a goalie but it'll also give me time to draft and wait on some of my own goalie prospects.

I like for Dallas.

Hard to draft those goalies when you are trading your draft capital for old ones.Shoalzie wroteCOLONThis is my only "big purchase" of the offseason.

Re: Trade: DAL-DET
All things considered, I got a solid goalie (with resale value) without coughing up either of my 2022 1st rounders. I was willing to move a 2nd rounder since I had two. Suter is a wild card of a young player...I just don't know what his future will be in Chicago with all of the centers they have. As I said, this is my only significant add of the offseason. I want to guarantee myself that I won't have to worry about getting enough starts from goalies.
It'll be a slow process to draft-and-wait on prospects. I wasn't planning on bottoming-out again since there's enough competition at the bottom of the league anyway. The lottery might be kind to me but I'm not relying on it. Obviously, the 2022 and 2023 drafts have some real gems at the top compared to this year. Overall, I want a good quantity of picks going forward. That 4th rounder I received gives me 6 total picks between 115-150 in the draft. I added the 91st overall from Mik in the Stephenson-Gurianov deal.
If I had the patience before, I could've had a better roster now than I what I ended up with if I just stuck with players I drafted. And from that, I could've still had a lot of my draft picks and prospects in the pipeline. Too many reaches on veteran players that got me very little gain. I think I'm a better drafter than I am a trader in this format. I acknowledge my mistakes and that's why I'm changing my strategy.

Not sure how helly is worth hart plus KK plus kyrou but the 12 ranked goalie who led minny to the playoffs isn’t with a young nhler and a 2nd. Talbot is also on a very reasonable contractDa_Hawks wroteCOLONHard to draft those goalies when you are trading your draft capital for old ones.Shoalzie wroteCOLONThis is my only "big purchase" of the offseason.

Re: Trade: DAL-DET
I think it makes sense for Scott, it's a stop gap and he could maybe even trade him for a younger goalie if he performs since he is on a good contract for two years.
Really like it for Will since with the trade for Talbot he made just recently it now looks like:
Suter
22 2nd Det
Foegele
22 6th CGY
for
Elliott
Arvidsson
2021 4th
2022 2nd DAL
Nice cycle for a UFA goalie with an uncertain future and a guy paid more than Foegele that hasn't looked better the last two seasons.

Re: Trade: DAL-DET
I don't think most think he's worth that, but if we are basing it off last season it's due to Hart being the 55th ranked goalie and worst GAA and SV% of anyone with 15GP.lightupdadarkness wroteCOLONNot sure how helly is worth hart plus KK plus kyrou but the 12 ranked goalie who led minny to the playoffs isn’t with a young nhler and a 2nd. 1 year left until ufa. Or they protect a 24 year old goalie who had a pretty good year, and won AHL goalie of year before that, and is under team control after current contract.lightupdadarkness wroteCOLONHe just led them to the playoffs literally I don’t see them not protecting him but just my 2 centsMatthew wroteCOLONChance talbot ends up in Seattle too

Yeah I know. Very rare what Carter hart has done as a 22 year old goalie and then Philly shutting him down when they were out of the playoffs with an injury I think tells you something
Re: Trade: DAL-DET
Minny is a prime candidate for a side deal, I don't think they want to lose Dumba or a goalie.

Who played how often down the stretch when they were making their playoff run and in the playoff series where they were over matched?Matthew wroteCOLON1 year left until ufa.
