you're forgetting that AM is doing this while playing responsible two way center position
pasta just flies on the wing getting fed from elite C in bergeron

typically a 2 way C cannot score 40 goals at age 18 (even though he wasnt as "2-way" then)

pasta isnt close to Matthews

whoever that doesn't agree that Matthews will be the greatest goal scorer ever to live NEXT to Ovechkin is quite a fool
they really need to watch more hockey on a regular basis
Only if his little princess wrists hold up long enough.
yes, i think the whole wrist thing is overplayed (media)
like yes, keefe just mentioned in words: "it's been a lingering issue for quite a while"
media spins it as omfg, matthews been hurt and they just realized they need to rest him

no, it just means hes had minor lingering pain that doesnt warrant surgery or long term downtime... bodies go thru pains and aches in hockey. hes a superstar. they wont just sit him for lingering pain.
i tweak my wrist walking my fucking dog... it lingers for like 3 weeks sometimes
pro hockey will do something similar or worse for an elite human specimen like AM34.

if it was that grave of a concern, he would've sat out/consulted for elective surgery a long time ago
i fully support still, of them taking every precaution for him as he's gone down long term with injuries before
You don't see OV going down with injuries. Matthews won't reach OV goal totals... OV was just a different breed of human goal scoring prowess.

yes., thats why i said hes the greatest scorer NEXT to ovi
ovi has something that nobody in NHL has to the same extent and level - his passion and love for the game. thats what excels him to the God tier

Sounds like an excuse to me. If that's the case, gretzky and lemeiux are >>>> goal scorers than matthews, but decided to concentrate on playmaking. Also, not like matthews isn't getting fed by elite players too.

Ovi also has ridiculous longevity as a goal scorer. Most goal scorers follow the stamkos trajectory where they peak for a few years and then fall back a bit and start passing more.

Since Chicago is LTIRing him, then you still have his cap and contract. You can ltir him and his cap won't count or just leave him on the bench and his cap will count.

He's basically in Zetterberg/Pronger/Bolland/Clarkson territory. He didn't fully retire like Luongo where there's a recapture penalty.

"Jack Johnson had successful sports hernia related surgery yesterday. Expectation is he will make a full recovery by June/July."

Encouraging news for my Rangers' tandem.

Anyone got anything on Brendan Smith?

Lotto changes approved.

*2 lotto spots, starting 2021

*max move up 10 spots, starting 2022
*team can only win lotto twice within 5 year period, starting 2022.

Personally I wish they would keep the 3 spots rather than 2 spots.

Who says you can't just 3 spots?

I know, the league reflects the NHL in these terms. Curious what all of the leagues are going to do in regards to not be able to win the lottery more than twice in 5 years.
