Re: League Announcements Discussion
I’d just argue my infraction occurred because I made the drop after lock. Allowing teams to drop after the claim is processed should be a level of leeway we allow for GMs. I think this is trending towards “you don’t have a bench spot open to make the claim” so demote/waive someone before you make the claim. Eliminating tedious admin actions to promote leeway where teams aren’t getting an advantage is probably in everyone’s best interest.
Re: League Announcements Discussion
Personally I felt both fines assessed were harsh.
The one to Anaheim in particular was gross imho and just a way to prevent more fight back from GMs.
And that's from Matthew himself. We are to the point where a CC member would rather losing a 3rd than having GMs throwing more (baseless) conspiracy allegations at the CC, pretty sad.

Re: League Announcements Discussion
Agreed. Seems like a precedent has been set of fines for ticky tacky shit that just isn’t fun. Matthews trade was definitively a grey area, but nixing the waiver claim & fining him when the trade was edited like 30 minutes later? Eventually this precedent will have to be reset.
Re: League Announcements Discussion
Yes, but we can't reset it mid-season when similar things have been fined a 3rd all ready in season. It will need to be well-written in off season.Jordan (VGK) wroteCOLONAgreed. I made a mistake. It cost me. I won't do it again.
I'm okay with this and ready to move on.

Re: League Announcements Discussion
Gonna go in a circle and say the precedent is for 50 contracts and not 90 players so we are setting a new one. But this is all just silly lol

How did Vegas beat me for Ruhwedel?
Re: League Announcements Discussion
A previous claim of his was rejected. He lost that player (wedgewood), and was fined. However he re-gained his previous waiver pick position, which was quite high.Chuck Norris wroteCOLONHow did Vegas beat me for Ruhwedel?

If nothing else all these fines will speed up the draft. Somewhere Lee is smiling

Can you honestly tell me you have 40+ players not on a contract worth keeping? Clean up your roster and this is a non issue.Jordan (VGK) wroteCOLONGonna go in a circle and say the precedent is for 50 contracts and not 90 players so we are setting a new one. But this is all just silly lol

Re: League Announcements Discussion
You’re right but that’s a bad argument. If that’s the logic why have a 90 limit if no one could possibly have that many players worth keeping.Handsome&FairMike wroteCOLONCan you honestly tell me you have 40+ players not on a contract worth keeping? I have the 90 best assets in the league, so I don't know what any of you are talking about.

Re: League Announcements Discussion
This is a good point. But if no one thinks our league penalties are fair why are we still handing them out? The CC is still ultimately deciding thiskyuss wroteCOLONPersonally I felt both fines assessed were harsh.

Re: League Announcements Discussion
We need to move away from 3rds I agree, the mindset of I paid that fine so others should as well is the culprit here.
It will need to be on the agenda for the offseason. I could see a 5th or 6th as sufficient. Also CC is talking about maybe going from 7 to 5. Mik has already stepped down, but is continuing to vote until replaced and Matthew has expressed interest in stepping down.
Any GMs who want to be a part of CC feel free to speak up as it's not a very glamourous position so it's tough to get GMs to participate and make decisions.
