Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
....what about someone like Blackwood who has been held out previously and should be eligible for LTIR retroactively?

Great question. Is he actually on IR right now?

There are reports that he tested positive that I've seen on Twitter but nothing official.

No because under the previous rules he was only eligible for IR and with all my other IR-only eligible cases adding him would have put me over the cap

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Blackwood should be LTIR eligible given he was out already before this.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
This is beyond retarded. What makes you guys so sure these game will even be made up? To not even allow guys to go to IR is beyond dumbMatthew wroteCOLONBecause this is the entire team going to covid, players cannot go to ltir/ir since the idea is for these games to be made up at a later date...so it's just like a scheduling change. They must either stay in your lineup, go to your bench if u have room, or if they are exempt, go to the minors.

That seems clear in his case. For the sake of argument would someone like Palmieri who was just held out last night (I believe) also qualify for LTIR but not someone who entered protocol today?Handsome&FairMike wroteCOLONBlackwood should be LTIR eligible given he was out already before this.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
We probably should've implement some form of "taxi squad". Where you can stash away a few names that you can freely call up in case of emergencies like this.
Honestly, I didn't think we'd see as many games postponed this quickly. But all it takes is one team to have a breakout and then it effects the schedule of two or three other teams.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Isn't there a max games played allowed? Shouldn't that also be a deterrent to play scrubs in the place of covid stars this year?
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
The nhl Taxi squad isn't anything special. Guys still need to go through waivers to go onto the taxi squads. It's really just keeping guys close to the nhl team so they don't need to travel back and forth between the ahl and nhl teams.Shoalzie wroteCOLONWe probably should've implement some form of "taxi squad". That's completely short sighted and missing the point.Matthew wroteCOLONThe nhl Taxi squad isn't anything special. Guys still need to go through waivers to go onto the taxi squads. Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
We play fantasy hockey using real players who go through hot and cold streaks on the ice and some of them get hurt or sick. Some of them miss games because of weather or a pandemic. So much of what is happening to players on our rosters is out of our hands.
It sucks not having Gusev for 3 games this week but I don't exactly have a replacement level player I could call up. I have taxi squad players I could call up but I don't want to use them for a short term fix.
We all have to manage with the same set of rules and circumstances. If you have cap room and a lot of waiver exempt...then this situation is tailor-made for your team.
Also, this is what sucks about a weekly format rather than having daily lineups. I don't think we imagined a pandemic happening when the league originally started.

Shame...McLeod playing the best hockey of his life and finally perhaps cracking that jersey lineup for good and then he gets put on covid protocol lol. Shitty
