I affirm this trade (my first in the BBKL) and thank Nashville for the good negotiations and wish him luck getting his guy at #6.

So 1 goes for a nhl players plus but 6 goes for a prospect and you have to add a pick to it

Making poor ltcompton add that 6th in 2021 is insulting lol. Poor format btw.

Lol indeed. Somehow I doubt Steve will agree to trade me #1 for #6 + that 6th rounder.

Adding the pick is the only thing that bothers me. Completely unnecessary ask for a late pick IMO.

As for the trade I think theres a better than 50% chance Kaprizov has a better career than #6. Signability questions seem to be in the past and should step into MIN as the #1 option.

"The best player in pro hockey outside of the NHL, Kaprizov blends surprising power for his size and a low base to his stride with a release that he can snap off of his stick from a standstill or adjust in motion to surprise goalies and defenders, an uncanny knack for getting open, and an underrated defensive game that sees him win more battles than most people are probably willing to give him credit for. It cannot be understated how good he has been the last two years. He was a marked man every time he touched the ice and he still found ways to score nearly twice as many goals than his nearest teammate, stay out of the box while leveraging his 200-pound frame to protect or fight for the puck, and drive goal differential results even when he wasn’t always contributing."

Sounds like he might have some periphs even and was ranked 6th best prospect in a recent article I took this from. Might have sacrificed a little upside if #6 is a superstar but getting a fully developed player on a cheap deal ready to contribute doesnt seem like as awful a trade as the reaction it's getting so far.

In a league a bunch of us are in Holtz went 6th. I might be on an island here, but I'd take Kaprizov over him.

Lots of big opinions for guys that have never won anything in this league.

Kaprizov is going to be a stud in the NHL. He's physical, a great playmaker, scores, kills penalties and has got well advertised hockey IQ, and an NHL ready body. He will be a stud on the power play and probably a 60 point player. And he'll be cheap for the next 5-7 years.

I advertised this pick and most of the offers I git were...unattractive.

The 6th is highly unlikely to ever play a game in the NHL, as you all well know.

What if Kaprizov turns into young Zach Parise. I'll take that over Perfetti, Rossi or Holtz any day

Have we learned nothing from the Vadim Shipachyov debacle? Here's the reality. When Kaprizov signs which seems likely at this point, per the new CBA they will have to burn a year off of his 2 year elc despite being ineligible to play in the playoffs. Assuming all goes well he will be loaned to a team in europe and he will be on a 1 year elc next season. It's basically a one year trial for him to adjust to NA ice and if all doesn't go so well do you not think he won't hesitate to go back to Russia? As talented as Kaprizov is, Arizona is taking all the risk here. Mik should have been adding easily, but somehow he manages to get a small add from Arizona? It's beyond annoying at this point.
