If I had done the standings correctly before Friday and got all the information about this situation before the lottery happened...you would've known before the lottery that you couldn't move up from the 4th pick. Your revised position happened to come up in the lottery draw. You would've been 4th if not for the fact we had the unusual situation with the #1 pick.

Without the point adjustment with the GP penalty, your pick wouldn't have even been in the position that was drawn for the #2 pick.

You aren't being picked on...the situation was being carried out as it should've been.

The penalty would've been the same for you, Kyle or whoever else would've taken the team over.

We have a few measures to keep the league competitive...the salary cap/floor and GP limits. If we didn't have the rules in place, bottom feeder teams would roll out $20 million team and dress 6 NHLers to race for the bottom. And then the lottery is in place so teams can't just have the first pick for being the best at being the worst.

You're not being penalized for anything other than this. It's a franchise penalty. Your pick wouldn't be this low in the standings if not for the performance of the GM that you replaced. You took over the team "as it lies".

If I did a better job of explaining this GP situation to you, would you have refused coming back? Keep in mind, I wasn't trying to manipulate you or mislead you. I was actually surprised you wanted to take over this particular team but I know you like to rebuild.
Let's just say that if I knew then what I know now, I would not have rejoined the league, and that is not limited to the decision process of this pick. At this point, I am considering if I even want to be part of this moving forward.

All announced after the lottery takes place.

what a fucking clown show.
Why is everything always about you?
Should the other bottom teams get punished because another team missed gp when they made the requirements?

I know you are like 12 so I will elaborate. Big word, sorry, I will explain.

It involves my pick so it is about me, you dolt.
It affects other people's picks too. Or are you still too stupid to realize that?

I'd be surprised if you had any friends to be honest, you're a little weasel with a shit personality

Considering the discussion was about my pick being punished multiple times, it was about my pick.

As far as having a shit personality, who knew that repeatedly attacking someone over the years would lead that person to have less than favourable encounters. I have 0 problems with most people in the league. I just give less of a shit about the opinions of people who I wouldn't ask for advice from, like you.
Considering that there is at least one other pick that would be affected, it's about more than just you.

I don't care if you wouldn't ask for my advice lmao.
Instead of always whining like a little bitch that the world is out to get you, maybe stop and think from a perspective that would be fair for all parties involved?
I always welcome constructive criticism/debate from anyone here, but your criticism is never constructive.
Nobody is out to get you, no matter how much of this league dislikes your toxic contributions to this community.
I mean the fact that CC members wanted you back despite how annoying you are would show that we value competitiveness in this league and that we put personal biases aside.

And again, the discussion was not about the other picks. The other teams moving down was an expected result of losing the lottery. My team moving down would have been an expected result of losing the lottery. My team won the lottery and should have moved up to 2nd but the pick was punished yet again and was moved to 5.

I would have no issue picking 5th if I led the team to miss gp. I took over after the season ended.

Why do you think you should have moved up? Your pick was barred from winning a top 3 pick as it should be. That's not a punishment lol!

It does involve another pick.
By winning the lottery and moving up to 2nd, at least one other pick would shift down to accommodate that (correct me if I'm wrong here).
It isn't fair to that team if they sacrificed to hit gp minimums.

I understand that it is not your fault that Boston missed gp and it's not an ideal situation, but you did know that there would be complications with that pick when you took over the team.

It wasn't eligible to advance. I'm not sure what is so complicated about this. You didn't get double penetrated no matter how many times you try to say it.

I was told that the pick would be moved back 1 spot for missing gp. I wasn't told it wouldn't be eligible to win a lotto spot. I would have never taken over Boston because of this to avoid precisely this type of drama.

Here are the facts.

Kyle led his team to miss go and quit
I took over after the season had ended
I was told that the pick was being punished by moving back 1 slot
I brought up the punished on the 23
The lotto happens
My team won 2nd
Punishment occurs after the lotto and it's far more severe than I was lead to believe

If you can't make things right by giving me 2nd overall , award me a compensation pick at the end of the 1st round so we can be done with this. I ask this because I had no bearing on Boston missing gp. I should have been punished fairly by being moved back 1 spot pre lotto and told at the time that I was not eligible to win. This was all processed post lotto.

Did someone tell you the pick would NOT be barred from winning the lottery?
Because it's clear in the CBA that it would.

Whether you were 3rd or 4th in the standings, as I had it explained to me, you couldn't move up...which I had only learned yesterday. Most of the CC discussions yesterday was how to handle you winning the 2nd pick but you weren't allowed to move up.

(Rangers) Kyle moved up to #2 from #3 since you being drawn for the #2 pick couldn't happen. You essentially returned to your existing spot...then you moved back a spot because St. Louis got the #1 pick.

You can say you lost 3 spots but really, you couldn't move up no matter what. You should've been told ahead of time that your current spot was the best possible result in the lottery. I didn't get that information ahead of time and relay that to you and I'm sorry for that. I didn't get any enjoyment out of what happened yesterday.

Shouldn't the onus be on league management inviting someone to the league to offer this information rather than expect someone joining to read over an entire 2000 word thread? It also states that exceptions can be made for missing. I would say this is an exception worthy case as I am not responsible for the team missing gp.

-according to Scott's most recent post, even league management was not aware of this rule.

You've been in this league for years, and there's no need to read the entire 2000 word post when you can just skip down to the section about to.

The salary cap is a standard NHL rule. NHL teams cannot miss games played and be subsequently punished.

So your stance is to read a document for something that neither I nor the head of the league knew existed...and then blame that person for not knowing about said rule?

That's correct. I think this issue was brought up because your pick came up in the lottery. It's been in the CBA...that's a rule I wasn't aware of but that's not to say it doesn't exist. I should know all the rules or at least consult those who do.

I used to be a bigger stickler for GP when I was a rebuilding team and I obsessed over making sure I reached the GP limit with my own team. I pay more attention to the point adjustment aspect.

This is all I am asking for. This is a reasonably fair conclusion to this issue. The CBA can be amended for these types of issues.

Um you've been in the league for years and should know the rules by now.
The rule was changed that a team missing gp can't advance BEFORE you quit.
And yes it is the GM's responsibility to read over the rules before/when they join the league and have a pretty good understanding before they commit to the league.

Tbh, you are being a bit ridiculous now with how hard you are fighting this. Could the league be more transparent? Absolutely. Does that mean ignorance frees you of that responsibility? Absolutely not.
