Matthew the clear winner, his 'strategy' with the goalies is paying off lol

Like to know what voodoo Matthew is performing.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
has a doll for every starter in the league, just ready to strike at a moment's notice
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
To get gp for sure. Still doesn't have anyone on the team capable of winning it for him.kyuss wroteCOLONMatthew the clear winner, his 'strategy' with the goalies is paying off lol
Also, we should have a gp min per week and then toss the min gp for the year. Makes more sense.

Would just mean that teams would have to have the starter and the backup (or a few 1A/1B types on their squad) - most have the team systems anyways.Handsome&FairMike wroteCOLONCan't do weekly with injuries...Da_Hawks wroteCOLONTo get gp for sure. I am 100% against any system that compels you to piece together systems. There's no need for a weekly minimum. We don't need less roster flexibility.Da_Hawks wroteCOLONWould just mean that teams would have to have the starter and the backup (or a few 1A/1B types on their squad) - most have the team systems anyways.Handsome&FairMike wroteCOLONCan't do weekly with injuries...Da_Hawks wroteCOLONTo get gp for sure. One of the few times I agree with Casper. Systems dumb down fantasy hockey, imo. I'm for the pure free market in this case.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
We always seem to revisit the "goalie system" debate every year.
Every player is a stock or an asset. You buy a player, they'll give you some positive return or their value falls off a cliff and you're stuck with them or you have to sell them a reduced price. We all have to go through this when we're practically dealing with all active NHL players along with every prospect and minor leaguer.
Lee tried to buck the system but not investing in a steady goalie when I've said repeatedly...you can still win categories with the worst possible goalie. Every goalie can have good week or a bad week. If you don't get any GGP, you're giving away 16 categories every week...8 at a minimum.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Meh - still dumb not having a weekly minimum. Allows someone to get stupid lucky like Matt did, and lock in 0 GA, 0.00GAA and 1.000 sv%. If that were to happen against me in the playoffs, I'd be livid.
On another point - looks like I'll be without Bobby Ryan for some time... guess he has some shit to deal with. Could be suffering from some depression.. he takes lots of flack for his contract and poor play - maybe it finally caught up to him.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
To make a move now there's plenty of time to turn the season around and they're obviously not too far out of a playoff spot. Without following them closely, it just comes down to needing a change in the room to give that team a boost. Not every team will have a Berube-like jolt when they change coaches but the coach usually the first guy to take the fall when a team struggles.
Can't imagine Babs goes unemployed for long...he just seems like he didn't fit well in that market and he took over a team with a lot of younger players neither of his previous stops were with rebuilding franchises. A far cry from his prime years in Detroit when he quality veteran leaders to lean on. I think the next guy to take some heat has to be Tavares as the captain if the coaching change doesn't make a difference.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
nobody respects his system here. Esp in the locker room
it was a good time for him to go now.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Coaching change won't fix that joke of a defense corps Dubas assembled. Dubas officially on notice.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
You can tell there was a disconnect between Babcock and Dubas. I had to believe that this would be his last year there if they didn't make some progress in the playoffs. Contract be damned...they can't keep flaming out of the playoffs.
