Yes im an idiot for honestly forgetting to put Clarkson in the lineup, I traded Pavelec and a 4th round pick to have Clarkson ripped out of my linup, this went unoticed so technically he wasn't on waivers, once Monday night passed i was fucked and couldn't do anything about it, i think thats a little harsh seeing as i didnt even put him down in the minors, he was put there due to a trade i made with Scott. So i lose Clarkson because i made an honest mistake to put him in, i think that is crap, if i got a penalty for not putting him in then so be it, but to have him ripped out like that is wrong and should have been taken care of in a different manner, something should be done about this a.s.a.p, why the hell would make that trade to have him sit in the minors, the way this was dealt was bullshit, I got one pm from tony regarding this and all it said was, check CBS, thats it, i look and sure shit he is out of my line up and Tony picked him up.

It's a krap situation, but we had no other choice JC. Believe me, I sympathize with you, I really do, but our hands were tied, we've done this with others, and to blatantly ignore our rules would open up a huge can of worms. I.E. Frank and his first round pick.

Because there was no post made, he was just sitting on the inactive roster for two weeks, you do that and your going to lose a player every time, those are the rules. And If I'm not mistaken, he had three other players listed as press box players, but don't quote me on that.

However it was more then forgetting to dress him last monday; Clarkson was acquired more then 2 roster submissions ago (19th of nov if I recall CC discussion accurately) , he appears no where on your team-page, transaction thread, or active lineup. The only place he can be found is in the minors, on CBS. If you found him there at any point during the 10+ days you could have set him to active and only lost him for that current week. And it's not that you hadn't edited team-page or lineup since the trade, as Pavelec wasn't listed and both weeks you posted line-ups (including press-box), and I believe you accepted the trade on BBKL and were at least told on CBS that it had gone through.

The Admins + CC found our hands tied... precedence, rules and future decisions all point to that player being placed on waivers.

This wasn't a hastey decision at all, it was cut and dry no other alternative but to follow past decisions. It's not like any of us stood to gain from this happening, we made this decision because it was right. No matter how shitty it is for JCarton.

he never listed him in his bench in any thread or even put him on his team for that matter. He had essentially three weeks before we caught this, he probably could have gotten away with it which is sad on our part. The blame is entirely on him.

As far as I know you had till roster lock to notice the error. But if he isn't listed in your starting line up hes assumed to be in your minors and thus must clear.
This has been how we've done things in the past. That being said if you did have a waiver eligible player who could have been substituted for clarkson then it does suck. But as far as I know this has been how we've done it in the past.

Have we not been going on and on and on about how important it is to have your roster up to date? to post your transactions? to follow the rules? Are we supposed to deal with every single issue in such a subjective manner as to never be consistent? Why would some of you feed the flames of a shitty situation when you know that every protocol was followed properly. This is not the first time this has happened. Our lack of being able to keep track of pressbox players on CBS makes having an up to date roster imperative. If you have 2 mins to make changes on CBS, you have 1 min to post it on BBKL. Simple. I feel for Jay and understand his frustration but how fair would it be to the rest of the league and for the credibility of the league to just leave something like this go after 3 weeks? When it has been done before to past GM's? Just because the player in question may have more value than the past ones, does not make things different. Is there any other evidence available to support Clarkson being a pressbox player? What was stated in the transaction when the trade was made? Transactions are there for a reason, they are a record and history that we can go back to in times of conflict.
