I love these middling Western teams just lining up to be killed by the Predators or the Sharks or the Jets in the first round. I guess the 3rd spot in the Central is up for grabs but that still means a date with the Jets or the Predators in the first round.

You look at Vancouver...I'd think they won't be buyers...but if they make the playoffs great, if they don't they're well on their way to being a better team in the long run.

You look at Edmonton and Minnesota and St. Louis and Dallas...those are teams with big money contracts and their stars are in the prime years...they need to make the playoffs. Even if it means getting slaughtered by the clear favorites in the conference.

The Sharks need to get some goaltending. With better goaltending they'd be in the stratosphere as the Tampa Bay Lightning with how elite their underlying numbers are.

Nice deal for Teravainen... just makes the nylander deal look worse and worse. Don't get why he didn't go to the minors for some conditioning to start - I assume Nylander probably had it as part of the deal that he wouldn't be demoted initially.
