Yup, sometimes better to just take the loss on the one guy that's takenLee wroteCOLONYeah im not trading away shit this time. traded schultz and marchessault for scraps and ended up losing myers as well. not worth it.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Given that the NHL is apparently not allowing Seattle in before 2021 I wonder how it works with the gigantic fee Seattle is paying to get in.. I guess they still have to submit that as early as they would under a 2020 expansion scenario.. which would explain why the NHL feels like delaying it to 2021 lol

well I went that route and didn't work too well for me eitherArian The Insider wroteCOLONYup, sometimes better to just take the loss on the one guy that's takenLee wroteCOLONYeah im not trading away shit this time. traded schultz and marchessault for scraps and ended up losing myers as well. not worth it.

Maybe leave Zuccarello unprotected over Arvidsson next time?kyuss wroteCOLONwell I went that route and didn't work too well for me eitherArian The Insider wroteCOLONYup, sometimes better to just take the loss on the one guy that's takenLee wroteCOLONYeah im not trading away shit this time. traded schultz and marchessault for scraps and ended up losing myers as well. not worth it.

2020-2021 or 2021-22 is the first season for seattle?

the latter, apparently
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
well Zucc offered cost certainty for 2 more seasons, I didn't know Arvi would sign long term for even less money a couple of months laterArian The Insider wroteCOLONMaybe leave Zuccarello unprotected over Arvidsson next time?kyuss wroteCOLONwell I went that route and didn't work too well for me eitherArian The Insider wroteCOLONYup, sometimes better to just take the loss on the one guy that's takenLee wroteCOLONYeah im not trading away shit this time. traded schultz and marchessault for scraps and ended up losing myers as well. not worth it.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
So players who get any games this year are draft eligible?

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I really hope someone in a position of power figures their shit out and goes to 8 divisions of 4 instead of 4 divisions of 8 by then. Arizona is gonna be in for a shitty travel schedule if they're leave it this way.Bruyns wroteCOLONYa, that's been confirmed.
How hard would it be to do:
Northwest: Seattle, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton
Pacific: Anaheim, San Jose, Los Angeles, Vegas
South Central (or something): Arizona, Colorado, Dallas, Nashville
North Central (or something): Winnipeg, Minnesota, Chicago, St. Louis
Atlantic: Ottawa, Montreal, Buffalo, Toronto
Northeast: New York, New York, New Jersey, Boston
Metro (idk what else to call it): Columbus, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia
Southeast: Washington, Carolina, Tampa Bay, Florida
and go to having the 4 division winner seeded 1-4 based on record and then seed the next 4 teams 5-8. Like it should be.
I'm only slightly peeved by this

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I'd just assume they get rid of divisions...just have two 16-team conferences and take the top 8 as the playoff.
32 games -- 2 games (home and home) against each team from the opposite conference
45 games -- 3 games against each conference opponent (2 home / 1 away or 1 home / 2 away)
5 games -- play five conference opponents a 4th time (where you'd play them twice at home and twice on road)
With this 5 extra games, you rotate through your entire conference every 3 years...you play 5 teams the first year, then the next year you play a different 5 and then the third year you play the remaining 5 and start the sequence over in the next year.
The other crazy idea would be to lose the East/West concept and just have four 8-divisions. The entire league gets thrown into a single 16-team playoff. The four division winners plus 12 teams with the next best records.

I might quit league soon and then come back as seattle candidate under a totally different ISP/IP address

"Vegas Golden Knights will not participate in the NHL expansion draft in June 2021; so they will not lose any players. "
Doubt this should be part of our policy?

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I'd include Vegas in our draft. It would be the 5th year of existence...I think they'd be well established enough to lose a player like the rest of us. One player from each team so Seattle would get 30 players compared to 29 for Vegas in their expansion draft.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
agreed. Especially when, otherwise, Vegas would have an advantage as a possible 'unlimited' recipient of quality roster players that other teams don't want to expose and choose to trade instead

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
It's far different than the real NHL where the Knights don't have an established organization (years of draft picks and prospects) even though they hit the ground running in year 1. In fantasy, you can pluck a decent player off every other team and you can be a borderline playoff team from Day 1.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
honestly I don't think that's even right for the NHL Vegas..

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I had read previously they wouldn’t get any of the expansion fee either
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Vegas isn't getting a piece of the expansion monetary pie in the nhl so they don't need to give up a player. Not the same here.
