Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
It went this long...I have to believe the Nylander camp caved. I'd be curious to know what he was asking for. I don't think he got a bad contract but I'm sure he wanted more.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Sounds like the Nylander AAV over the length of the deal is closer to $7.3m
McKenzie:
First year salary is pro rated $10M salary (6.77 M) plus a full $2M signing bonus. Net number of $8.77M. AAV of $10.2M.
In out years, the AAV is $6.996M.
In year two, base salary is $700K, SB of $8.3M.
In remaining years, $2.5M in base salary plus $3.5M SB.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I think the number is still higher than what they wanted to give him but manageable for this year and definitely tradeable going forward if required
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Clarification from Bob McKenzie:
"In actual dollars received, nothing to do with cap hits or AAVs, William Nylander is receiving $41.77M over six years, which averages $6.96M per year."
Sounds like the official AAV does end up around $6.9m. Confusing stuff

Yeah im not trading away shit this time. traded schultz and marchessault for scraps and ended up losing myers as well. not worth it.
