The Wings did unload Datsyuk's contract to Arizona when he left for the KHL. Their to the Coyotes ended up being Chychrun but the Wings draft Cholowski and Hronek with the picks they received.

Joe Smith of The Athletic adds Dotchin had a "material breach" of his contract, leading to this move by the Lightning.
