1st overall pick on draft day wouldnt ALONE fetch more than Lee has gotten? i think when draft day is here, whoever has 1st overall will move it and prove how much Lee really missed out on.History is witness already anyways.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONYeah, you're both wrong.SuperMario wroteCOLONbtw this is one of the RARE times Anton and I have ever actually agreed on something so that should tell you something lol.

this. lol ill let anton continue this argument for me. i need to study.anton wroteCOLONisn't that something. problem is players like that can be acquired without giving up 1st overall.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONHe didn't get name value, but make no mistakes, his return has the chance to have a similar if not greater impact in the future.anton wroteCOLONyou've been here since the beginning. you know the ransom 1st round picks, nevermind 1st OVERALL picks, can be held for.
he could have gotten all those prospects for the pick ALONE if he wanted. or an NHL impact player plus the prospects. you know it would have happened. it's not an overstatement.
bry and i have already identified the kind of deals that are available on draft day.
to give up the 1st overall pick for a bunch of "could be's" and not get a single sure-fire impact player is not good asset management.
Re: First overall
lol kareem you are not winning this battle.
the precedent is there. 1st round picks get this return alone on draft day easy.

Don't argue with morons something something take you down something something beat you with experience.
Re: First overall
you pull the trigger prematurely and get a return maybe half of which you could have gotten if you had waited, then feel the need to make a thread bragging about doing so... and we're the morons...Kezia wroteCOLONDon't argue with morons something something take you down something something beat you with experience.
got it.
i'll be sure to bump this thread when i get more for the latest of my 3 picks on draft day.
Re: First overall
You still sound like a jealous ex girlfriend who got dumped for not putting out. Your offer wasn't enough, I said as much. I told you what I'd want and you didn't offer that.

That comment wasn't funny the first time so I really don't know why you felt the need to use it again, I actually felt dumber after reading it....we keep saying the reason we are hard on you for that trade over and over yet you don't listen. Its not that the players that you gained are terrible, its just nothing compared to what you could have gotten. I don't see why you are argueing? It's true and even Kareem who was sticking up for your players will admit that. You still sound like a jealous ex girlfriend who got dumped for not putting out. Please, enlighten me to how much better I am with Hossa and Martin in my line up as it stands right now.

it was Marian Hossa + Paul Martin + Andrew Cogliano + David Rundblad + Kenny RyanKezia wroteCOLONPlease, enlighten me to how much better I am with Hossa and Martin in my line up as it stands right now.
Do I seriously need to tell you why a few proven comomodities are more valuable then double the amount of prospects or are you just joshin with me?

FYI -
Hossa had 1 more point that Jokinen last year
Jokinen had more hits
Jokinen had more blocks
Jokinen had 800 faceoffs
Jokinen had more PP TOI

Re: First overall
Andrew Cogliano is a scrub.
Kenny Ryan has less points that Doherty.. One is a dman, the other is a forward.
Rundblad is doing decent this year... So is every single prospect that I added.
Jokinen was statistically better in almost every category than Hossa last year.
Martin played 22 games last year. He's off to a great start this year.

I know, statistics lie all the time. Opinion is the only thing that matters.
Re: First overall
how about you check your GP statistics
Re: First overall
So Hossa missed substantial time due to a shoulder injury last year
Missing more time as we speak due to another injury
Just came off missing more time for an injury.
This is helping your arguement?
2010/11/30 Lower body injury, sidelined indefinitely.
2010/11/07 Missed 5 games (upper body injury).
2010/10/29 Upper body injury, sidelined indefinitely.
2010/03/17 Missed 1 game (upper body injury).
2010/03/14 Upper body injury, day-to-day.
2010/03/02 Missed 1 game (head injury).
2010/02/14 Head injury, day-to-day.
2010/01/14 Missed 1 game (lower body injury).
2010/01/10 Lower body injury, day-to-day.
2009/11/25 Missed 22 games (right shoulder surgery).
2009/07/23 Right shoulder surgery, sidelined indefinitely.
2009/07/01 Signed as an unrestricted free agent by the Chicago Blackhawks to a 12-year contract.

Re: First overall
Lee....
come on dude... your joking.
And Kareem.... no one is saying the prospects suck... but... 1st overall has fetched far superior deals (from me alone) in back to back years.
JvR, Luca Sbisa & the 21st pick
or
Marian Hossa, Paul Martin, Andrew Cogliano, Kenny Ryan, David Rundblad

Re: First overall
i think the moment you talk about how Jokinen and Hossa are comparable (forget the GP argument) it is clear that you are a person that is looking only for positive feedback not negative criticism. If we had all said "GREAT JOB LEE I COULDN"T HAVE GOTTEN THAT WITH the 1st OVERALL NEXT YEAR" you wouldve easily given our opinions WAY MORE CREDIT than you are now. The problem is, this trade deserves only negative feedback. You lost. You made this comment:
You sound like a guy going out with an ugly girl and are rationalizing it to yourself by saying that she has a "good personality."
Well I'll counter with:Kezia wroteCOLONYou still sound like a jealous ex girlfriend who got dumped for not putting out. Your offer wasn't enough, I said as much. I told you what I'd want and you didn't offer that.

Re: First overall
You see, Shiv. If you put these players stats side by side, without the names , and asked people to vote who the better player is, the person with better stats, more consistent stats, consistent 82 GP stats, will win every damned time. Hossa is the sexy name out of the 2, so in some peoples opinion, he could never be below Jokinen. All that and Jokinen is being paid over 2 mil less.
Regarding the other comment.. Atleast in my scenario, I'm still getting some Apparently she knows how to make me tick as well. I guess we'll see next year how many make the NHL.
