Sportsnet’s John Shannon believes that the Stars still have a chance to land Karlsson, but it seems that Dallas’ chances depend on whether or not they can be flexible with their offer.

To be conservative let's say 7 million, which would have saved roughly 2,200,000 a year for the past 3 years. However going forward for the next 5 years of that theoretical contract it is going to cost them an additional 2.5 million.

Hindsight but yea not the best outcome however he is a superstar, and they just locked him up
