I think it was a good pick

People want to hate on Merkley because “attitude problems” blah blah blah but tend to forget he’s one of, if not the youngest kids in the draft. Big bust chance, but his ceiling? One of the highest in this draft

That and he doesn't play any semblance of defense which is kind of you know his job. Not a kid I would have taken in the 1st round. 2nd round? Sure take a shot and hope he figures it out.

Not like he needs to be rushed in, let him develop like the sharks hopefully will. You can’t teach Someone to skate like him or do what he does offensively, but you can teach someone to become more defensively sound.

Well, no coach has figured out how to get through to him yet. You cant teach work ethic of desire to get better either.
