I'm not sure how much more clear cut the rule needs to be..

According to FT, they processed the trade?

Easy no. Follow the rules.
Exactly. Especially considering the deal involves a member of the cc.

not sure how your deal from 2 years ago (unless you're indeed referring to a different one from last year) can be compared to this:
http://bbkl.ca/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=13223
it was confirmed more than 2 hours later and more than 1 hour after roster lock, so it never went through on fantrax.

Mik...plain and simple - black and white

trade deadline is in rules - has to be posted AND confirmed by 6PM

I don't know why you keep arguing the fact.

Because facts may not be exactly how you and others are saying the are.

Those who worked hard so that my deadline deals would not go through in time, relax, I have no real issues with the CC decision (could have said Dave’s decision, but it doesn’t look like Matthew or Arian have different opinions).
The reason I’m wasting some more time on this is I don’t like going down as the villain of a situation where I did nothing wrong, and that includes me pointing out how rejecting this deal should have not been a foregone conclusion (unless I’m missing something here below).

2018 BBKL Trade Deadline

Monday, February 26th - 6pm EST (trade MUST be posted and confirmed) (this is the FINAL week of our regular season also)
First off, this year's announcement isn't really different from the ones we had in the past when late deals ended up allowed, I mean it's not something new trades need to be "posted and confirmed".
If you really want to leave no room for interpretation next time, IF agreed by the CC (was this one agreed on?), you should state something like "trades must not only be posted but also confirmed on the trade forum before 6pm EST".
(in this case the trade was posted before the deadline, and agreed hours earlier via pm)

Second, it's not like in the past rules or announcements suggested you could confirm after the deadline deals posted before the deadline, yet it was allowed (to my knowledge this would be the first deal of this kind rejected in almost 9 years).

Funnily enough, actually in more 'recent' times it was openly suggested deals like this one should be good to go:
http://bbkl.ca/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=13223#p240544
Shoalzie wroteCOLONThe protocol going forward will be if a trade thread is posted before the trade deadline (which this was) but the trade needs to confirmed (by all parties) AND the trade needs to be made on Fantrax before the roster lock.
Arian The Insider wroteCOLONThanks for the clear up. So this means that people with Fantrax admin rights will never have this problem
kyuss wroteCOLONthey will need to confirm the deal here on the forum before 7 p.m. just like you & others
The deals from 2 years back that people keep referring to as precedents are actually different cases:
LAK-DAL http://bbkl.ca/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=13226 posted and confirmed almost 40' late (also featuring an add more than 2 hrs late and more than 1 hour after roster lock, that never went through on fantrax viewtopic.php?f=4&t=13226&p=240262#p240233)
PIT-EDM viewtopic.php?f=4&t=13223 confirmed more than 2 hrs late and more than 1 hour after roster lock, never went through on fantrax
CGY-CHI viewtopic.php?f=4&t=13225 posted 20' late, confirmed 2 hours late and 1 hour after roster lock, never went through on fantrax
CAR-CHI viewtopic.php?f=4&t=13228 posted almost 3 hrs late, confirmed more than 3 hrs late, never went through on fantrax

In this case the trade was posted before the deadline and confirmed soon after, both on forum and fantrax, matching what was suggested in the quoting above.
None of the above deals are a similar case.

As for those terms being ever discussed again:
dave1959 wroteCOLONHoly fuck...we did this last year
Did we?
Or do you mean the CC discussion from march 2016 http://bbkl.ca/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=13229
Let me know if there has been another discussion I missed on the matter, cause that one in terms of future policy went down like this:
Shoalzie wroteCOLONThis would my proposed rules for the deadline:
Keep the 6:00 deadline. No new trade threads can be posted after the league deadline. Any threads after 6:00 should be voided.
As long as a thread was posted by 6:00, thread confirmation from all parties and Fantrax can occur before the roster lock. However, any trade that doesn't complete all steps by the roster lock, the trade is voided.
Shep wroteCOLONI think moving forward, it is reasonable to have deals posted before 6:00pm and must be accepted before 7:00pm (though I am completely okay with having everything confirmed before 6pm).
I also want to figure out a way to allow screenshot/text confirmation. IE- I send a trade to Mik at 1pm via PM, he responds and accepts at like 2pm with "Post it, I'll be on the road and don't know if I can get on the forums to accept it so just post this as confirmation" or something like that, because this type of situation does occur.
But I think it also may open a can of worms, so it may be better to just not allow them at all.
kyuss wroteCOLONagree with what both Scott and Shep just said about future regulation.
as for the screenshot/text confirmation, not sure we can easily regulate it in a clean way that prevents room for arguments..

I'm pretty sure we did all agree on it, as it is posted in http://bbkl.ca/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=14161 BBKL CBA (as of April 2017) and NOBODY argued differently

6-7: Trade deadline is 6pm (on the designated deadline day – same day as NHL deadline day unless otherwise noted) and trade MUST BE POSTED AND CONFIRMED or it will not go through.

(pretty sure posted and confirmed is understood to be in the Trading Block thread)

it was posted before deadline, confirmed after deadline but before roster lock.

Which if you bother reading above you said (not alone) should be fine

that discussion was back in March of 2016

we've had 2 drafts since then with the rule in place of 6pm - POSTING AND CONFIRMED

no arguements about it until now.

it was indeed posted and confirmed in the trading block, for that matter.
dave1959 wroteCOLONI'm pretty sure we did all agree on it, as it is posted in http://bbkl.ca/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=14161 BBKL CBA (as of April 2017) and NOBODY argued differently
so what you are saying is that.. that discussion I posted above was indeed the last discussion we had on this matter, but in the CBA you put something different from what other CC members who expressed their opinion intended to do and no one noticed.

Even what you put there can be argued it leaves some room for a different interpretation as it doesn't state "posted and confirmed before February 26th - 6pm EST" but anyway, there is obviously the argument to reject the deal despite what CC clearly suggested in its last discussion on the matter.
What I'm saying is an argument going the other way could be made too. No one inside the CC seems to care about that, fine, but I didn't make up what I posted above, that was CC majority position.

might be because this is the first trade posted before the deadline to be rejected?

We need more black and white rules...post and confirm the trade by the deadline or it's not permitted.

I'd like rules to be more defined instead of this gray area garbage that allows loopholes and for people to make a case to not enforce the rule when it affects them.

If this happened to me with either of my trades yesterday...I would say they shouldn't be allowed. Let's stick with our rules for a change.

Mik, Kyle...sorry you didn't get your trade posted to completion n time but we posted a rule about this.
