This is somewhat true hahaha, but Ghost is also a very good talent, I think he's got good years ahead as well.timwebb1212 wroteCOLONExcept he thinks that about every Flyers prospectkimmer wroteCOLONFrom caspers perspective, he has no reason to let go faith in a once 3rd round prospect he so proudly calles to be a stud to be in nhl. I'm not going to go into a long discussion again because me and Casper have had this argument before, but I think Ghost tops out as a #5D, PP specialist who depends on 65% ozone starts to be effective.
Absolute upside IMO is what Schultz has become in PIT, can't see him ever being better than that

False. Although the Flyers do have one of the better farm systems in the NHL right now.timwebb1212 wroteCOLONExcept he thinks that about every Flyers prospectkimmer wroteCOLONFrom caspers perspective, he has no reason to let go faith in a once 3rd round prospect he so proudly calles to be a stud to be in nhl. Except he has already had a season that was better or equal to what Schultz did? Ghost can very well be a perennial 50 pt defender. It's not a secret that his weakness in his own end, but he is one of the better offensive defenders in the game right now.timwebb1212 wroteCOLONI'm not going to go into a long discussion again because me and Casper have had this argument before, but I think Ghost tops out as a #5D, PP specialist who depends on 65% ozone starts to be effective.

Like I said, I suspect his rookie season was his best of his career. I also think this season will be the best of Schultz' careerCasperX22 wroteCOLONExcept he has already had a season that was better or equal to what Schultz did? Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I like the Ghost deal, they got a couple of UFA years on the back of that, all locked up until he's 30.
I don't know if Ghost ends up being quite as good as he was in 15-16 when he was shooting at over 11% but even if he's a 40 point pace guy every year of that deal that's pretty cheap. His talent is probably somewhere between this year and last.

As in: Give out an award, announce a few Vegas picks. Give out another award, announce a few more Vegas picks. And so on. And so on.
I really, truly, honestly have no idea what to think about this. Weirdly we'll be seeing the faces of the game's greatest players in 2016-17 followed by names that will be sending everyone to hockeydb.com. A real mish-mash.
I know from my perspective, it will make covering the awards on June 23 pure hell. I can only imagine I'll be interviewing Auston Matthews if -- okay, when -- he is named the Calder Trophy winner as rookie of the year while hearing that Vegas has chosen, from the Toronto Maple Leafs ....
Ugh.
^
Is this true? that will be damn awful.. though that's typical bettman.. awful things are just gonna happen
It only makes sense since the awards are in Vegas. Plus, who watches the awards show anyway? I'll be honest...I don't watch it anymore. I used to like it until it got kinda cheesy. You mix the expansion draft results in there...it makes this must see TV. I think they could've just did a special presentation after or before the awards. Mixing it in is a little weird.
that will be damn boring.. waiting to see who gets picked while forcefully seeing baby sid whining for not winning the award XD

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
that can't be true right? doing it that way would mess up both things, expansion draft and awards in the first place

they are doing it for TV ratings to boost teh shitty award show
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
pathetic really
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I dunno, I don't mind it if that's the way they're doing it. At least it will make the awards actually worth watching

I like they are doing it this way. Kinda making it an event, rather than simply releasing the list to tsn or sportsnet.

The expectation, affirmed in conversations within the past three days by essentially everyone on the NHL players’ side of the aisle, is that the union will decline to trigger the escalator for next season, thus creating a flat salary cap right around the current $73 million for 2017-18

CapFriendly has been using $73 million as the ceiling and $54 million as the floor...for what that's worth. Sounded like it was going to be $73 million unless the PA decided otherwise.
