maybe because you somehow think Oshie + Voracek are worth less than Parise + 1st + Mayers LOL.

oshie and voracek are two former 1st round picks who are just now developing into what they were projected to be. to use the "parise is proven" argument is retarded. oshie and voracek combined will DEFINITELY prove to be worth more than parise + 1st + mayers in the next couple of years. and especially in our league where salary is a consideration. next year when parise gets a 6m + contract, a total oshie and voracek combined will be less than, the difference becomes even greater. anyone who says otherwise is being short sighted.

By that line of reasoning Stamkos is worth less too because of his impending contract...Parise is a legit superstar, there aren't many in fantasy hockey. He is most certainly worth more than Voracek and Oshie.

comparing stamkos to parise is comparing apples to oranges. and there is no way parise + 1st + mayers is worth voracek and oshie.

No it isn't in fact I believe Parise's best season to date was better than Stamkos' to date. He hits a ton of categories, and has done so for dirt cheap, so no Shiv it is not comparing apples to oranges. Also consider that Parise has hit 46 goals before...

First of all youre missing the part where Franks team isnt ready to compete. It will be in 2 years when Parise is more of an 80+ point player (historical comparisons are flawed for this reason). 2nd all of this is discounting that Oshie and Voracek will pay dividends in 2 years time when franks team is ready to compete. if both oshie and voracek are more than 70 point players (imo oshie can hit 80), this deal would run completely against what frank is trying to do here.

So Parise will fall back down to 80 points, and Vorcek and Oshie will push past 70? Interesting argument...

right because Parise didn't post 82 points in 81 games last year, right?

oh and not only that but 7th overall picks like Voracek never push 70 points right? nor do top line playmakers like oshie who had 11 points in 13 games ever have a chance of reaching PPG numbers in their careers?

you're right i'm crazy.

Do some research Shiv, being drafted 7th in no way guarantees, or even suggests a player is capable of 60+ points. Take a look at the list of 7th overall picks since 1990, only two (Doan, Arnott) have scored over 60, and only four have proven capable of developing into all star calibre players (Sutter, Sydor, Arnott, Doan).

1990: Darryl Sydor
1991: Alek Stojanov
1992: Ryan Sittler
1993: Jason Arnott
1994: Jamie Storr
1995: Shane Doan
1996: Erik Rasmussen
1997: Paul Mara
1998: Manny Malholtra
1999: Kris Beech
2000: Lars Jonsson
2001: Mike Komisarek
2002: Joffrey Lupul
2003: Ryan Suter
2004: Rostislav Olesz
2005: Jack Skille
2006: Kyle Okposo
2007: Jakub Voracek
2008: Colin Wilson

As for Oshie, I like him as much as the next guy, but you should let him hit 80, before you proclaim him an annual ppg threat...

Hey now !!! Okposo has been #2 on his team in scoring in both of his first two seasons... that's pretty frigging legit.

But I'm not calling him PPG either... more of a 60-65pt guy with reasonable peripheries.

The Islanders are one of the lowest scoring teams over the last two seasons, and were the last in 2008. That season Okposo finished second in scoring with 39 points, behind a defenceman...Hardly legit. In any case, we are not talking about Okposo, he is irrelevent until he tops 70 points.

I can't believe is it all this drama cause I didn't accept the deal of Parise+++ for voracek+ Oshie.

I just can't trade them together since I know I will never get what I should get. for them I should get malkin + pick.
those 2 have 50/50 to become a 70+ pts getter. So why not keep them instead of trading them for Parise that will get him 90 max in NJ.
I'm taking a big chance for not trading them for Parise and compagnie but that's the way i roll. I love Voracek and I allmost want to have a new banner.

wait a second LOL. kareem. you and I both know very well that when talking about a guy drafted 7th overall, there is a potential level associated with the pick. that potential level is very simiilar for picks taken 5-10. so if you want to compare do tally picks 5 through 10 for each year you listed, then lets talk.

Your missing the point, where you were drafted does not guarantee sucess, unless it is first overall, and I assure you the percentage of sucess from 5-10 is also low, perhaps not as low, but lower than you would expect.
